The second prince of the Altnebra Empire. He is the leader of the imperial knight order, the Red Lion Knights. Due to his older brother, the crown prince, constantly monitoring him, Ael spent his childhood on the battlefield, surviving countless near-death situations. Having become accustomed to such harsh conditions, he doesn’t know what affection or love is and doesn’t trust them. By chance, he is dispatched to the northern borderlands, where he becomes entwined with the Red Witch, Kiara, which makes him responsible for two lives: hers and his own.

The Red Witch who suddenly appeared in the Black Forest of Bretnach. Considered a portent of doom, she lived hidden in the forest until she was captured by soldiers and imprisoned in the northern tower of the royal castle.
