A Night Soaked With You - Chapter 1
2 weeks ago, in the midst of a bustling cityscape.
A man walked down the spiraling staircase of a rooftop bar that boasted towering skyscrapers.
With deep-set eyes, a prominent nose, and a jawline that looked as if it were painted with a brush, he was a man whose large build made the black suit fit him even more elegantly.
However, his gaze was starkly devoid of warmth, contrasting sharply with his appearance.
“Seong Tae-geon, are you really going?”
Someone rushed up from behind the man and grabbed him.
The man, Tae-geon, furrowed his handsome brow and shook off his friend’s arm.
Dong-woo, who followed after him, glared at his cold, indifferent back, knowing he wouldn’t show his face for a while if he left today.
“Hey! Don’t be like that. Gyu-won brought pretty girls to try and make up with you! They’re A-list actors! They’re hot idols these days!”
At his friend’s shout, Tae-geon’s cold strides abruptly stopped.
Dong-woo, who had been chuckling, suddenly lost his smile when he locked eyes with Tae-geon.
Tae-geon quietly spoke.
“An Dong-woo.”
“…Yeah?”
“Did you think I’d stay here just because those kinds of girls were called?”
Though his voice was fairly calm, the underlying meaning was unmistakable.
Feeling the chill in the air, Dong-woo awkwardly mumbled, “This guy’s so prickly.”
It was astonishing how much he could dislike such pretty and vibrant celebrities.
While Dong-woo shook his head in disbelief, Tae-geon turned around, cutting through the cold air.
Yet, as an old friend, Dong-woo didn’t back down easily and tried to coax him.
“Alright, alright. I’ll send the actors and singers away. Is that good enough?”
“That’s up to you. It has nothing to do with me.”
“Hey! No matter what, it doesn’t make sense for us not to see them. I messed up, so…”
At that moment, a sudden gust of wind accompanied a slender voice that cut through their argument.
“Stop right there.”
Both of their gazes shifted simultaneously to one spot.
At the top of the stairs stood a woman, her long hair fluttering against the backdrop of the night sky.
There was something oddly intriguing about her presence.
Whether it was due to her paper-thin pale face, the redness around her eyes, or the sorrowful look in her gaze,
she exuded a gloomy aura that seemed out of place in the rooftop bar.
Tae-geon and Dong-woo exchanged glances.
‘Do you know her?’
‘No.’
‘I don’t know her either.’
Tae-geon frowned at the woman who had suddenly interrupted them.
From her swaying posture, it was evident that she was heavily intoxicated, teetering as if she might fall at any moment.
The woman began to descend the stairs step by step.
Getting involved with someone like her wouldn’t bring any good, Tae-geon coolly decided and turned to leave.
However, he found himself looking back at her again.
Seong Tae-geon.
The woman’s whisper calling his name brushed against his ear on the wind. She knew his name.
As she came down, their gazes intertwined with two steps between them.
The woman standing close by was clear-skinned and beautiful, a contrast to her gloomy expression.
It felt as if she were wet rather than drunk.
But that was all there was to it.
There were plenty of women who approached him pretending to be drunk and having a story to tell.
“Do you need something from me?”
Tae-geon asked coldly.
If she uttered something like wanting to spend the night together, he intended to leave without a second glance.
“You…… my…….”
However, the woman brought up a slightly different topic with a sorrowful face. It was even too quiet to hear properly.
With a frown, Tae-geon asked, “What?” leaning in a little closer.
“I also…… let…… go…….”
The woman muttered once more. Again, it wasn’t audible.
Thinking she was out of her mind, Tae-geon was about to turn away.
The woman, who seemed as if she had no strength at all, suddenly grabbed Tae-geon by the collar and shouted like thunder,
“I’ll kiss you too! Give me back my role! You bastard!”
Then she headbutted him right on the lips.
With her own lips.
“Ugh!”
Dong-woo, who was watching, inhaled sharply. Tae-geon’s eyes widened impossibly.
He could taste blood, as if someone’s lips had burst.
The kiss, teetering on the edge of a headbutt, lasted quite a while.
In such an absurd situation, Tae-geon couldn’t move, and the woman showed no sign of pulling away.
It wasn’t until some time had passed that she finally stepped back. Perhaps thinking it was a satisfying kiss, she elegantly arched her reddened eyes.
