A Night Soaked With You - Chapter 10
“So, the person who took my role and gave it to you… was Seong Tae-geon, right?”
Chae-young’s brow furrowed slightly.
‘Where did she hear that from now?’
She had started that rumor herself, hoping it would become true, but she hadn’t expected it to reach someone like her.
“……What does that have to do with you?”
Chae-young responded even more coldly, trying to mask her unease.
“Oh, I’m just curious. He gave you a role, so I wonder what he might be able to give me.”
It was only then that Chae-young realized Yeong-won had been looking somewhere behind her. In a panic, she quickly turned around.
There, Seong Tae-geon was descending the stairs.
Startled, Chae-young clenched her teeth and snarled at her,
“Mind your own business.”
“You know, the way you say that just makes me even more interested.”
With that, Yeong-won walked straight toward Tae-geon.
Chae-young, realizing what was happening a moment too late, tried to stop her, but Yeong-won was already in Tae-geon’s line of sight.
Yeong-won, swaying slightly, descended the stairs one step at a time.
‘What is she planning to say? That the rumors are true? That he took her role and gave it to me?’
Chae-young grew tense, watching Yeong-won closely. At that moment, Yeong-won suddenly threw herself into Tae-geon’s arms and kissed him.
To be honest, up until that point, Chae-young had just been dumbfounded and shocked, not angry or anxious.
After all, there was no way Tae-geon would let someone who touched him off so easily. In fact, she smirked, thinking this might actually turn out well.
To be honest, up until that point, Chae-young had just been dumbfounded and shocked, not angry or anxious.
He’ll probably just shove her off, send her to the hospital, or report her to the police for s****l harassment.
That’s the kind of man Seong Tae-geon was.
A man who wouldn’t let anyone, male or female, lay a hand on him without consequences.
Even Chae-young had tried multiple times to get close to him, but he never gave her the slightest opening.
She had gone to great lengths to create opportunities to meet him, but he didn’t spare her even a passing glance.
Yet there he was, quietly gazing at Yeong-won, then lifting her up and carrying her to the penthouse room.
Chae-young couldn’t believe her eyes.
‘Seong Tae-geon carried a woman upstairs? And that woman was Kim Yeong-won?’
Thirty minutes had passed, and Chae-young was still standing in the same spot, unable to accept the reality.
“Oh my, isn’t that Yu Chae-young? I’m a fan! Unnie!” (t/n: ‘Unnie’ means older sister in korean, or just addressing older females.)
Just then, someone recognized her and called out.
Damn it.
Chae-young barely managed to swallow the curses that were about to spill out, forcing a bright smile instead.
“Hello.”
“Unnie, could you take a picture with me? Wow, you look amazing in real life!”
As the girl squealed in excitement, annoyance flickered in Chae-young’s eyes.
Of course, she didn’t let any of it show, continuing to smile and strike a pose.
“You’re so beautiful in person. Absolutely gorgeous. Unnie, I’ve seen all your mov—”
“Aren’t you going to take the picture?”
When the girl kept chatting instead of taking the photo, Chae-young abruptly cut her off.
Only then did the girl stammer, “Uh… uh…” fumbling to pull out her phone.
What an idiot.
Chae-young suppressed her rising anger, lifting the corners of her mouth into a smile.
◇ ◆ ◇
– Seong Tae-geon’s one hilarious guy.
Over the phone, Yeong-won responded with an awkward smile to Yuna’s comment. Funny, huh.
If Yuna met him in person, those words would vanish instantly. He was the farthest thing from funny. In fact, he was much closer to being terrifying.
– Seriously, nothing happened while you were there, right?
Yuna’s sudden question almost made Yeong-won spit out her water. She barely managed to swallow it down and quickly answered, “Yeah!”
Though her voice sounded calm, her face had turned bright red.
‘Something…… did happen, but I can’t tell her.’
Yeong-won couldn’t bring herself to tell Yuna everything that had happened with Tae-geon.
To explain, she’d have to start with how she kissed him first, and she wasn’t ready to confess that. Especially not about that kiss that had practically melted her. Instead, she brushed it off, saying she just got an apology.
Despite hearing that, Yuna became even more outraged.
She ranted about why Yeong-won had let it slide, how she should’ve demanded compensation, and how she was so mad she couldn’t stand it, threatening to go grab Yu Chae-young by the hair.
Yeong-won had to break into a cold sweat trying to calm her down.
– Well, anyway, he’s probably just a total pervert. It’s obvious what kind of guy would hang around someone like Yu Chae-young, right?
Feeling uneasy about continuing to talk about him, Yeong-won subtly changed the subject.
“Oh, but it’s really hot here.”
– Where are you?
“At the filming set’s waiting room. It’s a container, and there’s no fan, so it’s like an oven.”
Yeong-won fanned herself with the script she was holding, but the heat remained oppressive due to the stifling air.
– Are you kidding me? They don’t even have a fan in a container? In this weather? Is that movie even going to be properly made?
“I don’t know. The director’s trying to persuade the production company and investors right now, but it seems like he’s struggling.”
Yeong-won sighed softly.
