A Night Soaked With You - Chapter 12
A swimming pool operated by a high-end fitness center.
A man stood there in a suit that was completely out of place for the pool.
Even as the water rose and lapped at his slipper-clad feet, he remained completely still, staring intently at one spot.
But it wasn’t just him. The eyes of everyone in the pool were already fixed on ‘someone’ cutting through the water.
Moments later, ‘someone’ reached the end of the lane, and the man waiting for him checked his wristwatch.
‘……He’s gotten a bit faster. Is he even human?’
Tae-geon’s speed was noted by his assistant, Jameson, a Korean-American, who couldn’t help but whistle in amazement.
The already fast swimmer seemed poised to break a world record today.
Meanwhile, Tae-geon emerged from the water and pushed his goggles up. At that moment, the gazes directed at him became even more blatant.
With a chiseled appearance, broad shoulders, and beautifully sculpted muscles leading from his abs to his obliques, he exuded an allure that was unmistakable.
While others might have looked like a crustacean draped in seaweed, he had transcended that into something undeniably sexy.
“Looks like there’s been some movement from Daewon. Your cousin is causing some trouble.”
“I don’t care. What’s our current stock position?”
“10 percent.”
“Gather a bit more. We need to be able to sell at the right time.”
Then Tae-geon was about to dive back into the water when Jameson exclaimed, “Whoa!” and hurriedly grabbed him.
“I have one more thing to tell you!”
Tae-geon turned around. Even after grabbing him, Jameson hesitated, struggling to continue speaking.
“Um…… about the movie you asked me to look into for investment. The brochure is ready.”
“Got it.”
Tae-geon replied shortly, seemingly disinterested, before diving back into the pool.
Jameson tilted his head in confusion.
‘This is really strange.’
Tae-geon’s attitude left Jameson puzzled.
When Tae-geon first asked him to look into potential movies for investment, Jameson had been taken aback.
Tae-geon was someone who instinctively chose only what was profitable.
He always seemed to draw perfect conclusions as if he already knew the answers. Up until now, he had never picked an option outside of that.
‘Is he really considering investing in the film industry?’
In Tae-geon’s options, movies seemed somewhat, no, very ambiguous.
There was little assurance of profitability, and above all, Tae-geon had shown no interest in films at all.
‘Could it be…… he’s taken an interest in an actress?’
Jameson’s thoughts spiraled into extremes. However, he quickly shook his head.
Tae-geon was not the type to act that way.
My boss had no interest in the entertainment industry. In fact, it was closer to contempt. Given his complicated family background, he hated anything that tarnished his name, making actors the antithesis of his existence.
There was no way he would be interested in that. Jameson was certain.
So it circled back again. Why on earth was he suddenly interested in movies……? A man whose main goal was profitability? Someone who didn’t even watch films?
Jameson’s bewildered gaze followed Tae-geon’s broad back as he swam away in the butterfly stroke.
Well, he would find out soon enough.
Jameson plodded along, already feeling the water sloshing in his socks.
After finishing his swim and heading to the sauna, Tae-geon changed in the locker room.
He put on his wristwatch, fastened his cuffs, and gathered his belongings. As he checked his appearance in the full-length mirror to ensure everything was in place, he was about to head out when—
Thunk.
His cellphone fell, but instead of picking it up, Tae-geon merely stared at it.
As it fell, it seemed something was accidentally pressed, and a video began to play on the screen. It was the drama featuring that woman he had watched all night long.
‘Kim Yeong-won.’
Tae-geon muttered as he picked up his phone.
For several days, she had appeared in his dreams, always looking troubled. One day, she had cried, soaking his chest with her tears; another day, she had smiled playfully, luring him in.
On one occasion, she had wandered around the room wearing only one shoe.
‘Has this woman cast a spell on me or something?’
Tae-geon’s brow furrowed slightly.
Never had a woman influenced his life like this. He had never met someone who could get under his skin to such an extent.
He had only mingled with women suitable for the occasion when he needed a business partner.
But after that impulsive kiss, and their lips meeting again in the room, cracks began to form in his daily life.
The woman who claimed she wasn’t there to seduce him proved otherwise, as their kiss was utterly clumsy.
Her body trembled like a quaking aspen, and every movement was marked by awkwardness.
The problem was that he had reacted to that awkwardness, it only fueled his impulses further.
Recalling her fragrant scent and the way her body had wriggled in his embrace made him feel heat rise within him once more.
Despite having deliberately exercised intensely, the warmth brought on by Yeong-won showed no signs of fading.
It was as if he had caught a cold.
‘……This isn’t really my type.’
He thought, narrowing his eyes as he tapped the screen, focusing on the close-up of Yeong-won’s face.
