A Night Soaked With You - Chapter 30
Just as the red liquid disappeared between his lips, Yeong-won’s vision cleared again.
The first thought that struck her was that things couldn’t end like this.
If they did, it wouldn’t just be her who suffered—Director Choi Bong would be seriously affected as well.
“Ev-even if you fire me, please don’t withdraw your investment in the film. Director Choi Bong is a talented person. He’s just never been interested in commercial success until now, but this time he’s fully committed. Everything that happened is my fault…… so…… I’ll take all the blame…….”
As Yeong-won rambled incoherently, tears welled up in her eyes.
Those tears, which had been barely held back, soon overflowed and trickled down her pale cheeks.
‘Why did I do something so stupid? Why was I so rude to this terrifying man?’
No, she thought.
‘Why didn’t he say anything to stop me?’
A flood of emotions—resentment, guilt, and regret—mixed together as tears streamed down her face like a waterfall.
There was no time to sit there crying stupidly, yet she couldn’t get a single word out.
If she opened her mouth, she feared the sobs would come out even louder.
All she could do was clench her trembling lips and let the tears silently fall.
Tae-geon, who had been quietly observing her, slowly extended his hand.
He wiped away the tears that were soaking her cheeks. The touch of his fingers against her face made Yeong-won shudder, causing her shoulders to twitch.
Tae-geon, as if appraising a diamond, examined the tears on his fingers with great interest.
Then, unexpectedly, he flicked his tongue and tasted them.
“Tastes good.”
He said, his lips curving into a deeply satisfied smile. Yeong-won’s eyes widened in shock, trembling violently.
She felt utterly trapped, like an animal caught in a snare, unable to move.
His intense gaze bore down on her, suffocating her with its weight.
Yeong-won’s breath became shallow, and she almost made an audible gasp without realizing it.
In the heavy silence, it was Tae-geon who finally spoke first.
“By the way.”
He began, lifting his hand to gently wipe away the tears still glistening on Yeong-won’s cheeks with his thumb.
The touch was markedly different from the intense gaze he had just moments ago.
It was softer, more straightforward, and the sticky pressure that had been weighing her down had vanished.
Yet, despite this gentle gesture, Yeong-won found his touch increasingly uncomfortable, causing her head to drop lower.
“Is it really that painful to ask for me to apply the ointment?”
“What?”
Yeong-won’s head snapped up in surprise. Noticing her bewilderment, he repeated in a calm tone.
“Is it really that painful to ask for some ointment? To cry that much over it?”
Was it correct to say he asked for ointment?
In disbelief, Yeong-won mulled over his words several times.
As an investor and an actress, she had made mistakes with him multiple times.
Since he brought her to the hotel, and given that he had even threatened to take her role if she didn’t comply with his strange demands, anyone would understand it as an intimidation to spend the night together.
‘So, it doesn’t mean you want to go to the hotel room……?’
Yeong-won stared at Tae-geon with the most foolish expression, her face smeared with tears from her earlier outburst.
“What kind of imagination were you having to make such a face?”
Tae-geon raised an eyebrow, pretending to be displeased.
‘You mean some weird imagination. Something a bit naughty…….’
Yeong-won swallowed the words she couldn’t bring herself to say.
Quickly, she shook her head side to side and rubbed her palms over her face to dry the tears.
“No. That’s not it.”
As if it couldn’t be any further from the truth.
While Yeong-won repeated her pointless denial, Tae-geon straightened his posture.
“It’s nothing serious. Three times a week. I need you to apply some ointment to my lips.”
“……Then can I continue to participate in ‘Distress’?”
Yeong-won asked cautiously, fidgeting with her hands that were clasped together.
“If you comply with my request.”
That means all she has to do is comply with the request. Of course, she could apply ointment as if it were being dumped from a truck.
It seemed he had a peculiar condition where his wounds didn’t heal easily, but what did it matter.
Those wounds wouldn’t last a month, and in the meantime, all she had to do was diligently apply the ointment.
“I’ll do it. I’ll do it.”
Yeong-won said intently, clenching her fist tightly. She flashed a bright smile on her tear-streaked face.
Tae-geon’s expression changed slightly, becoming a bit more enigmatic as he looked at her.
