A Night Soaked With You - Chapter 31
The car carrying Tae-geon and Yeong-won came to a stop in a dimly lit alley.
“No, no. You don’t need to get out.”
Yeong-won quickly insisted as Tae-geon made a move to exit the car. She hurriedly opened the door and stepped out first.
“Well then, I’ll be going now. Um…… just contact me when you need the ointment applied.”
She said, bowing at a 90-degree angle before shutting the door without giving Tae-geon a chance to say anything.
She clearly intended to leave no room for further conversation.
Tae-geon, having missed his chance to see her off, watched as she fled down the street as fast as she could.
His gaze relentlessly followed her disappearing figure as she rounded the corner. His lips curled into a twisted smile.
“Why’s she running away so eagerly? Makes me want to chase her.”
It seemed like Yeong-won knew exactly how to stir his impulses, whether she intended it or not.
“Kim Yeong-won.”
As the car started moving, Tae-geon sank deeper into his seat, repeating her name like a sigh.
He had always been in control at the negotiation table, never failing to obtain what he wanted.
Yet today, instead of handing Yeong-won a key card, he had given her ointment.
Despite knowing that his body desired her.
Tae-geon despised people in the entertainment industry. He loathed the idea of being a topic of public gossip, which was why he had never even glanced at celebrities.
His greed-driven mother came to mind, and thus, actors never sparked his interest.
But with Yeong-won, it felt different. Although he detested the notion of sponsorship, the idea of nurturing her held a certain appeal. It seemed like a different kind of fun.
That’s why he had brought her to the hotel. He had cornered her at the negotiation table, ensuring she couldn’t escape, then guided her to where he wanted her.
Yeong-won reacted just as he had expected. She had said no, but her resolve wavered.
‘If I had pushed just a little harder, she would have surely surrendered.’
However, Yeong-won suddenly broke down in tears, and Tae-geon had no choice but to change his approach.
Like a trapped mouse, she had struggled to escape but soon gave up, letting her tears fall as though she had abandoned all hope.
Watching the transparent tears well up in her brown eyes, Tae-geon’s heart wavered, as if something inside him had shifted.
That’s why he had let her go, using the ridiculous excuse of applying ointment.
‘After all, I can have her easily whenever I want.’
She was already in the palm of his hand. He could enjoy her as much as he pleased and discard her when he was done.
The image of Yeong-won, blushing helplessly like a ripe apricot, lingered in his mind.
The thought of it made his jaw ache, as if he had indulged in too much sugar.
Feeling his mouth fill with saliva, Tae-geon closed his eyes slowly, savoring the moment.
Jae-young rested her chin on her desk, clicking the mouse repeatedly. The sun had already set, but she couldn’t tear herself away from her seat.
Working overtime was a routine for her, as she worked at an interior design company. It wasn’t just Jae-young—most of her colleagues lived the same overtime-filled lives. Clients were notoriously picky, making the job even busier. ‘This design probably won’t work, right?’ Jae-young stared at the screen in deep thought when suddenly, she heard a rustling sound right behind her. Startled, she turned around, only to find the new intern, Gu Cheol-won, standing there. With a kind smile, he handed her something. “Assistant Manager, you should eat this while you work.” “Oh…… thank you.” That really scared me. Jae-young tried to calm her racing heart as she asked him. “Cheol-won, aren’t you going to eat?” He had gone out for dinner with some colleagues just ten minutes ago, yet here he was, handing her a lunchbox. Jae-young felt a little awkward. Cheol-won, however, gave an embarrassed smile. “How could I eat when you haven’t?” “You don’t need to worry about me.” “But I worry about you a lot, Assistant Manager.” Then he smiled at her again, and Jae-young thought to herself. ‘Ah, that’s not the smile I was hoping for.’ |
“Cut!! Cut! In-woo! That’s not the expression! You’re supposed to have blank eyes and only smile with your mouth!”
As expected, the director’s exasperated voice echoed across the set.
Yeong-won stood up, massaging her shoulders slightly.
In-woo bowed his head repeatedly in all directions.
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.”
Since In-woo was a top actor, the director was letting it slide playfully, but if it had been anyone else, they would have been cursed out by now.
This was already the eighth NG. (t/n: ‘NG’ stands for “No Good.” It refers to a take that is not usable, often due to mistakes or errors during filming.)
The entire crew was struggling due to In-woo stumbling over a scene that wasn’t even that difficult. Finally, Director Choi Bong, looking frustrated, called for a break.
“Alright, that’s it. Thirty-minute break!”
The staff immediately began murmuring and dispersed, clearly relieved. In-woo let out a heavy sigh, running a hand through his hair.
“Are you okay, sunbae?”
Noticing something unusual in his demeanor, Yeong-won cautiously asked, but In-woo mumbled, “It’s just that…….”
Unable to give a straight answer right away.
It seemed like he had something important to say. As Yeong-won quietly waited for him to speak, he finally asked, hesitantly.
“……The other day, did you get home okay?”
When Yeong-won looked confused, In-woo clarified his question a bit more.
