A Night Soaked With You - Chapter 4
And it was when her friend went to the restroom.
‘Yoo Chae-young appeared.’
Yoo Chae-young, who had used her connections to steal Yeong-won’s role, had appeared.
“I got rid of the girl who was like a thorn in my side. It was a win-win. You should also find girls like that. The ones without connections. They can’t say a word, so taking their roles is a piece of cake.”
Chae-young didn’t even know Yeong-won was there as she chattered away to her friend.
She laughed and scoffed, treating Yeong-won like a little mouse that couldn’t make a sound even if it was stepped on and killed.
Furious at that, Yeong-won gulped down her drink and charged at Chae-young.
After that, it was all darkness. She couldn’t remember anything.
Yeong-won pressed her tongue down and confessed in a trembling voice.
“……I don’t have any purpose like that.”
It seemed like things had gone seriously wrong. Tae-geon laughed at Yeong-won’s excuse as if it were ridiculous.
“Yet, you knew my name very precisely. Seong Tae-geon, Seong Tae-geon. Anyone who doesn’t know might think Seong Tae-geon is your dead husband.”
“That’s because I mistook you for someone else…….”
“Is it an ‘understanding’ when you’ve done this to my lips?”
Tae-geon tapped his lips with his fingers, looking offended. A clot of blood sat on his smooth lips, an odd sight.
‘No way, did I do that?’
Yeong-won’s complexion darkened. However, listening to Tae-geon’s questioning made her blood begin to boil.
I don’t know what mistake I made, but Yeong-won felt wronged.
The small wound on the man’s lips couldn’t compare to the way her heart was torn apart.
She had run her whole life with her eyes on just one thing, yet this man had completely shattered it all.
He would never understand how the frog died from the stone he threw.
After a long silence, Yeong-won seemed to have made up her mind and opened her mouth.
“You’re meeting with Chae-young, aren’t you?”
“……What?”
Tae-geon frowned. Yeong-won clenched her trembling hands and continued speaking.
“Seong Tae-geon, you’ve caused me to lose that role three times already. It may seem insignificant to you, but to me, it was a role that meant my life.”
“……So you’re saying that because I’m backing Chae-young, you lost the role?”
Was he pretending not to know. He must have known everything.
His shameless denial was infuriating enough that she wanted to hit him. Since it had come to this, Yeong-won decided to spill everything out.
“Yeah. The frog died from the stone you threw without a second thought.”
Yeong-won bit her lips. As her teeth touched her already broken lips, blood began to pool.
“So you tried to seduce me to get that role back.”
Tae-geon muttered, his gaze fixated on Yeong-won’s blood-stained lips.
Yeong-won’s eyes widened. It seemed like this man was terribly mistaken.
Swallowing hard, Yeong-won spoke in a trembling voice.
“It seems there’s been some misunderstanding, but I absolutely have no intention of doing that.”
“For someone who claims that, you certainly threw yourself at me too eagerly?”
Tae-geon scanned Yeong-won from head to toe as if appraising a product. Under his cold gaze, Yeong-won shrank back.
“I clearly said it’s a misunderstanding.”
Yeong-won clenched her sweaty hands into fists and answered more firmly.
She would seduce a man she had just met to ask for his support and secure a role.
No matter how desperate she was, that was a line she could not cross.
“Then what is it that you want. You must have something in mind to bring this up.”
Tae-geon lazily asked, resting his arms on the back of the chair.
Right. What is it that I want.
Caught off guard by the unexpected question, Yeong-won fell into thought.
In fact, she had never imagined she would face this man like this. She had only heard vague rumors.
She had searched for him online as Chae-young’s sponsor but only managed to find a blurry photo.
All Yeong-won knew about Seong Tae-geon was that he was the head of the global investment company ‘Meliot’ and that he was an incredibly impressive man.
That was all.
How impressive he was, meeting a man whose identity was shrouded in mystery could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Yeong-won gazed intently at Tae-geon.
As she looked at the face of the arrogant man who had never bowed his head to anyone, her desire became clear.
