After I Died, My Husband Went Mad - Chapter 127
Dehart picked at the black nail plaint and asked, kneeling on the ground in front of Watts, despite his status as a Duke. He was following Watts’ orders and harvesting herbs.
Watts sat down beside him and answered.
“Well, this black nail plant you’re picking, it’s not as rare as the glass flower, but it’s still hard to find in Belkram. However, it’s not too difficult to find here. But the glass flower is different.”
“What’s different about it? Explain.”
Watts raised an eyebrow at his arrogant tone but continued speaking.
“It only grows in very cold and deep valleys. Such places are rare in Belkram. Even if it does grow naturally, it’s not easy to harvest, since you have to risk your life to get it.”
“…So, you’re saying it’s not completely impossible?”
“It’s nearly impossible. The glass flowers I was going to use for Miss Bella’s treatment—out of the five roots I managed to harvest, half of them were from a Belkram mountain that was only accessible once every ten years.”
Watts was trying to prevent him from holding onto false hope, but as usual, Dehart interpreted his words entirely differently.
“Give me the contact information of the herbalist who harvested the glass flowers from Belkram Mountain.”
Dehart stood up and brushed off his knees. Watts looked at him with eyes that seemed to question whether he was chasing hopeless dreams.
“It’s pointless. The valley where the herbalist harvested the glass flowers has long been…”
Dehart interrupted him with a fierce laugh.
“I see. So you’re a doctor with a much weaker will than I thought. But if you give up on treating Sebelia just because of your pathetic determination, know that I won’t let it slide.”
Watts’ face hardened at the harsh criticism and relentless insults. Anger, something he had never shown before, began to rise in his brown eyes.
“I don’t care if you quit being a doctor or close the clinic because of your doubts. But you better make sure you completely cure Sebelia before you do. After that, you can do whatever you want with your sharp mind.”
“Are you saying that I’m not qualified to be a doctor?”
“Why not?”
Dehart smiled coldly.
“You said yourself that these herbs can be found in Belkram, but then you’re giving up. Do you think I wouldn’t notice?”
“I was only stating the reality!”
“That’s your reality, doctor. Unlike you, who only has a sharp mind, I live in a reality where impossible things become possible.”
Dehart smirked, standing tall with the sun behind him. His golden eyes sparkled brightly.
“I am the master of Hillend Hall, the Duke of Inverness, and the representative of the North. It doesn’t matter how rare or expensive those herbs are to others. They don’t concern me.”
“….”
“So focus only on curing Sebelia. Leave those cold, dead eyes of yours behind and concentrate on her treatment.”
Dehart walked past him and disappeared. Watts trembled with humiliation. However, it wasn’t anger that was reflected in his clenched fists, but shame.
Did I really give up on my patient?
For a moment, had he really thought he couldn’t cure Sebelia any longer? Watts looked back on his actions over the past few days and found the answer. Soon, he realized that Dehart’s words had been correct.
“Damn it…”
Watts couldn’t bring himself to leave that spot for a while.

Meanwhile, Sebelia was overwhelmed with an unexpected blow. Despite overcoming countless trials and hardships in the past, this time was different.
“Sigh…”
It felt as though God was playing tricks on her. Otherwise, there couldn’t be so many twists and turns in her life.
To be honest, I’m exhausted.
No matter how strong a person was, they couldn’t always maintain their resilience. Furthermore, she had viewed her full recovery as a stepping stone to a new life, so it was hard to shake off the depression.
“What should I do? If I had known it would end like this, I wouldn’t have tried to find Denisa.”
Even though it wasn’t her fault, she felt guilty. She kept regretting that she had acted hastily. Sebelia locked herself in her room, spending time swallowing the medicine that Claude had urgently bought from the apothecary.
“Sigh…”
She didn’t even want to go outside, let alone take a walk. Sometimes, Maya would try to coax her, but Sebelia didn’t budge.
“I’m sorry. Just let me stay like this for a while.”
Deeply saddened, Sebelia spent the entire day in a daze. She knew her state wasn’t right, but she couldn’t find a way to fix it. The emptiness and hollowness deep in her chest were beyond her ability to resolve.
A week passed like this. Sebelia only woke up to eat and take her medicine. Today was no different.
“Bella, don’t just lie there. Come walk with me for a bit. Lying down will only make you feel worse…”
As he cleared away the empty dishes, Claude cautiously spoke to her. However, Sebelia did not respond. Instead, she lay back down, clutching a large pillow to her chest and curling up in the blanket.
Claude sighed. Sebelia closed her eyes, trying to escape from reality, even if just for a moment.
Everything was just wearing her down.
