Becoming the Guide of the Mysophobic Villain? Absolutely Not! - Chapter 126
I was too lazy and just wanted to pretend I didn’t notice and fall asleep, but then I decided to pick it up anyway. It was my first day. I should at least maintain some semblance of a good image.
I picked up the pen and turned around. The Guide sitting behind me grinned and held out a hand.
Quickly handing it back, ensuring the supervisor wasn’t watching—wouldn’t want to be suspected of cheating on such an easy test.
As I was about to lay down again…
Thump, roll.
Another pen rolled to my feet.
The Guide behind me kicked my chair, urging me to pick it up faster.
So shameless, can’t even hold a pen properly…
Reluctantly, I picked it up and handed it back again.
I was about to finally take my nap, but…
Thump, roll.
I turned around with a scowl, and there was the Guide, grinning mischievously, kicking my chair again.
And behind that Guide, I saw a familiar face.
A face I hadn’t seen in a while and almost forgotten…
…It was Shana McQueen.
Then it clicked.
Oh, they’re trying to ostracize me.
If there was a queen bee type figure in the Guide community, it would be Shana.
She was beautiful and an A-Class Guide, attracting a lineup of powerful Espers. As a result, she was admired and envied among the Guides.
And Shana, who detested me because of my involvement with Claude, had once harassed me with false complaints and nitpicking.
Now that I had entered the Guide community as a newbie, it seemed her followers were taking up the task of tormenting me on her behalf.
In high school movies, the new student often figures out the school’s ecosystem and strategically aligns with the queen bee’s circle.
Being in the queen bee’s good graces could mean becoming a part of the school’s in-crowd.
So, what should be my approach?
I stared pensively at the pen lying next to my foot.
And then I made up my mind.
I picked up the pen. The Guide sitting behind me, smirking, reached out her hand.
She’d just roll it again if I returned it, right?
When I didn’t return the pen, the Guide raised her eyebrows and kicked my chair, urging me to hand it back.
I ignored her and slightly opened the window.
Then, without a second thought, I flung the pen right out the window.
“Hey, what are you doing…!”
“Quiet, please.”
The supervisor intervened just as the astonished Guide started to raise her voice.
The Guide grumbled and kicked my chair again, but stayed silent.
The supervisor walked over to me.
“Was this window open already?”
“No… I just opened it a bit because the air was stuffy. Is that not allowed?”
“Please keep it closed during the exam.”
“Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” the supervisor said, closing the window.
As the supervisor was about to return to her place, the Guide behind me called out in a strained voice.
“…Excuse me.”
“Yes?”
“I… I don’t have a pen.”
“You came to the exam without even bringing a pen?”
The supervisor, clearly baffled, eventually handed the Guide a pen.
Once the supervisor returned to her original spot, I heard a menacing whisper from behind,
“You’ll see…”
I shrugged it off with ease.
Time dragged on. Just when I was getting incredibly bored, the ending bell finally rang.
As soon as the supervisor left with the exam papers, the guide behind me stood up abruptly.
“Hey! You…!”
“Excuse me, please.”
There was no point in clashing with Shana’s follower. She was just a pawn, after all.
To catch a snake, you go for the head, not the tail.
I walked past the Guide and headed straight to the back of the classroom.
There sat Shana, surrounded by other Guides, poised like a sleek cheetah.
“Why is she doing that?”
“She must be crazy…”
I ignored the murmurs of the other Guides as I approached Shana.
Finally, standing in front of Shana, I greeted her cheerfully.
“Hello, Miss Shana. Long time no see.”
“…What?”
Shana narrowed her eyes, looking annoyed.
“It’s quite hot today, isn’t it?”
“What are you talking about…”
Shana scoffed at my comment about opening the window.
But her composure didn’t last long. Seeing my smiling face, she looked incredulous, as if thinking, ‘Surely not…’
But indeed, I did.
And without hesitation, I grabbed Shana’s bag and flung it straight out the window.
