Becoming the Guide of the Mysophobic Villain? Absolutely Not! - Chapter 132
I told him not to do it numerous times, but he would just agree and then repeat the same behavior. He said it seemed pitiful to wake me up when I was sleeping so peacefully.
Eventually, even though Claude tried to coax me, there were times I ended up sleeping in my room alone…
Now it seems he entered my room, which he had promised not to do, and turned off the alarm again.
“…Is this what you’re doing?”
I gave him a look for breaking the promise, but Claude didn’t flinch.
He truly believed what he did was justified.
Contemplating what penalty to give Claude for breaking his promise…
…I ended up deciding it didn’t really matter.
He can come if he wants.
As I tried to get up, Claude grabbed my wrist.
“Sleep more. You like sleeping in.”
“I have to go. There’s outdoor mock training today.”
“What about breakfast?”
“I think I’ll really be late if I eat now. They’ll give us snacks there, so I can just have those.”
“…You’re going to skip breakfast?”
Claude looked genuinely shocked.
I found it a bit absurd. Why is he so shocked?
“Let me go. I really need to hurry.”
“…”
“Can’t you let go?”
“What exactly do you do at that training?”
Claude, suddenly full of grievances with the world, asked irritably.
“Since you’re imprinted with me, you can’t guide any other Esper anyway. Besides, I don’t let you anywhere near the Guide department. What are you going to do in a place where there’s no Esper for you to guide?”
“That’s the point!”
“What?”
“I don’t have to do anything. Just standing around watching what others do brings in money!”
“….”
“It’s totally awesome!”
My eyes sparkled as I exclaimed, leaving Claude speechless.
Eventually, he let go of my hand.
As I began to walk away, I suddenly turned back to look at Claude.
He looked at me with resignation.
I swiftly returned to him and grabbed both of his cheeks with a smack.
“Lord Claude, you’re the best.”
“…”
“I feel so secure, my Esper.”
“…What’s the catch now?”
Claude, caught off guard with his cheeks in my grip, furrowed his eyebrows, trying to guess what I was up to.
How could he be so suspicious when someone is complimenting him?
It was utterly offensive.
“There’s no catch.”
“…Rose, it’s fine whatever you do, but please, just behave when I’m not around.”
Ha, as if that’s going to happen.
Unlikely, but I gave him a peck, barely touching lips.
Not missing the chance, he tried to wrap his long arms around my waist.
I dodged swiftly and rushed towards the wardrobe.
Let’s not forget, my role is to occasionally act cute for my butler, while in turn receiving an abundance of love as a sleek, well-fed cat.
With Claude as my backer, I feared nothing.
I could even toss the bag of the Center’s queen bee, Shana, out of the window, or even make a wide-range snipe at the Guides, telling them to use their heads if they have one!
No matter the trouble I cause, Claude will take care of it!

The training that Espers and Guides at the center receive, apart from theoretical education, falls into two main categories.
First, simulation training in the Center’s training hall against holographic mutants.
And second, outdoor mock training against actual mutants on a mock map created outside the center.
Most participants dislike outdoor mock training.
It requires moving outside the Center, and since actual mutants are involved, participants often get injured.
Perhaps the person who disliked outdoor mock training the most was me.
The allowance was meager, and there was too much overtime work to handle, often dumped on me because I was a low-ranking office worker.
But now, I no longer despise outdoor mock training.
The reason was simple.
I can earn 5,000 Berks in just half a day, which is quite literally more than half of my annual salary as an office worker.
There were moments when I felt disillusioned with the life of a civil servant, plagued by low pay and excessive overtime, and thought, ‘Should I just reveal I’m a Guide?’
But I never really intended to reveal my Guide status just for the money…
Now that it has come to this, might as well enjoy the benefits, right?
Thanks to that, I even thought I wanted to do that darn outdoor training every day when leaving the house. With 5,000 Berks for just half a day, I was overflowing with confidence.
