Becoming the Guide of the Mysophobic Villain? Absolutely Not! - Chapter 152
The ‘Genius Idol Rose Project’ or whatever it was called.
You’re telling me, I’m supposed to be a role model for the Guides and supposedly raise their average academic achievement by a whopping 10%?
The mere thought made me cringe.
I was always just a mere, ordinary commoner. Even during my clerical days, all I thought about was ways to avoid attention and do as little work as possible without getting caught. Doing the bare minimum is my life’s creed.
The thought of being the only hope and dream of the Guide Division’s education sector and carrying this project was daunting.
And if the project failed, the blame would surely fall squarely on me.
Claude had repeatedly reminded me not to cause any trouble where he couldn’t see. He’s putting up with a lot as it is.
If I stirred up more trouble, this might be the time he decides to lock me up for good.
“There must be other ways to solve the problem, even without me.”
…Hang in there!
I added, immediately regretting it as if I’d given her a hard time.
Demona was silent for a moment.
She must have gotten the hint. Surely, even if she was blinded by ambition, she wouldn’t cling to someone clearly saying no.
The class was about to start. It was time to wrap up the conversation and head back to the lecture hall.
“Huu…”
Suddenly, Demona sighed heavily, brushing her hair back. The desperate look in her eyes was gone.
…What now?
“Yes, Rose. As expected, you’re not so easy to persuade. Even when an old colleague grovels and spills their guts, you don’t budge. Well, considering you used to stick with Irene, who lacks humanity, like glue. Birds of a feather flock together, after all.”
“?”
“To be honest, I had already anticipated your refusal. So, before meeting you, I sought advice from Irene, who’s practically the original version you got copy-pasted from.”
“Hey! What did you just say? Take that back right now. How do I resemble Irene in any way…!”
“5% improvement in performance immediately pays 300,000 Berks.”
“…”
“10% improvement adds an additional 1 million Berks. A total of 1.3 million Berks. This is your only chance—take it or leave it.”
“…I’ll take it.”
…I couldn’t bring myself to refuse that offer.
***
And so, I became the Guide Division’s honey badger mascot and idol for 1.3 million Berks.
Though called an idol, my role was more akin to a cram school headteacher. I was tasked with somehow raising the average academic performance of my students by 10%.
The odds weren’t entirely against us. The education aimed at guides didn’t demand profound knowledge, and more importantly, the starting average was so low.
However, there was a huge obstacle to success.
Oscar.
The main culprit dragging down the average score.
Oscar spends his days almost living in the Esper Division’s building, making his visits to the Guide Division for education rare—only a handful of times a year actually. Moreover, his narcissism made him a poor candidate for modeling after me.
Thus, I had to deal with Oscar.
That’s why, for the first time in a while, I didn’t head to the Guide Division but to the Esper Division.
Finding Oscar wasn’t hard. Just follow the sound of giggling women, and soon, there he was, strolling down the hallway with a woman on each arm.
At first glance, they seemed to be amicably chatting and walking. But in reality, it was not so.
Oscar’s hands were incredibly busy. His left hand was tucked inside the top of the Esper on his left, fiddling around. His right hand was placed on the Esper on his right, kneading her b*****k.
It wasn’t just Oscar. The Esper on his left pushed his hand deeper into her clothing for him, and the Esper on his right, with her butt grabbed, pressed her body even closer to Oscar.
In broad daylight, in a corridor where everyone passes by, they were unabashedly groping each other. Wow.
And those passing by didn’t bat an eye, because, well, it’s Oscar. A good chunk of the Esper Division’s women had gone through this at least once already before.
And now, I was standing in Oscar’s way.
