Becoming the Guide of the Mysophobic Villain? Absolutely Not! - Chapter 170
A Guide who doesn’t even know how to guide their Esper. How pathetic can a Guide be in this world?
…But that’s me.
As I clammed up, looking disheartened, he didn’t know what to do.
“Why is my Guide in such a bad mood today?”
“…”
“Rose, do you want some cake?”
As I glared at him with wide eyes, Claude flinched.
“What, you think I’ll just forget everything and be happy if I eat some cake?”
“Um…”
“…”
“…No?”
It wasn’t like him to tease me as usual.
His face was one of confusion, like someone who had their long-held belief disproved.
I felt a sudden rush of heat to my head.
“What did you say!”
I had suspected he was feeding me too much! I couldn’t stand being treated like this! He must have thought of me as a happy puppy satisfied with just a snack!
Furious, I abruptly stood up, and Claude hastily got up to follow me. He grabbed my arm, trying to explain.
“I don’t know why you’re upset, so I don’t know how to make it better.”
“Do you think a cake is all it takes to make me happy?!”
“Then… how about ice cream instead of cake?”
Claude realized he had played the wrong card again as my expression turned colder.
In a fit of anger, I declared,
“I am not eating anything today.”
“Alright. I’m sorry. Do as you please.”
“…”
“…But you’ll eat dinner later, right?”
…That was the last straw.
“How many times do I have to say it! I’m not eating! Not cake, not ice cream, not dinner! Not even a sip of water! Nothing!”
Claude then became serious.
“…You’re not going to eat?”
It was still all about eating. I was so frustrated that I ground my teeth.
I shook off his hand and strode toward the door.
“I’m leaving.”
“No, why won’t you eat your favorite food when you’re angry…”
Claude was bewildered, unable to comprehend.
Why indeed. It’s to prove that I am a dignified human being, not a silly puppy that gets giddy because of some treats!
“Not leaving?”
I glared and growled, causing Claude to sigh deeply.
Reluctantly, he couldn’t move his feet, but I forced him out of the room.
His face, visible through the closing gap of the door, looked utterly lost.

The next day.
I woke up earlier than usual and left the house.
There were several reasons, but the main one was naturally because I was hungry.
I proudly declared a hunger strike last night out of anger towards Claude. So, I didn’t have any dinner, but before even that I had only a light lunch earlier that day. I thought I might as well sleep deeply since it had come to this, but I couldn’t sleep because I was hungry.
I thought about sneaking out to the kitchen at dawn to grab some snacks… but I barely resisted in order to maintain my dignity. If there was even a slight rustling sound, he would notice.
Instead, I left the house early in the morning and immediately went to the canteen, sweeping everything I could from the store into my bag and headed to the classroom.
Just when I was about to dump everything on the desk and begin devouring,
A long shadow appeared overhead…
“…Rose Valentine.”
It was Shana.
It seemed she was looking for a quarrel again, standing there proudly as if she had something trustworthy to say.
Her relaxed and arrogant demeanor was as elegant as a cheetah, as always.
But…
“What! What now! Why!”
After fasting for over 20 hours, I felt like I could even tear apart a cheetah.
Taken aback by my fierce response, Shana shuddered.
“Why, why like this. What did I do…”
“You’re about to do it! If you’ve got nothing to say to me, then leave! Or I’ll tear you apart!”
“I will, I will! I’m doing it!”
“If you can’t finish in 5 seconds, leave! I’m extremely sensitive right now!”
“Lord Claude’s deployment plans have been scheduled!”
I was about to headbutt her if she didn’t speak within 5 seconds.
I would have done it anyway if it had been the usual insubstantial talk, but…
The words that came out of Shana’s mouth made me freeze on the spot.
