Becoming the Guide of the Mysophobic Villain? Absolutely Not! - Chapter 233
A warm and sunny weekend afternoon.
…But Claude, walking swiftly down the hallway of the Esper Division, was in a very bad mood. His menacing aura was enough to make Wilhelm, walking beside him, feel uneasy.
Claude had no intention of leaving the house this week. It had already been several days since their reunion, but his Guide was so dear to him that it was hard to leave her alone even for a moment.
Since returning from the expedition, everything had been perfect. He had believed things were perfect before the expedition, but he realized after coming back that there was an even greater level of perfection.
Before the expedition, Rose’s guiding was so enchanting that it left him dazed, but it was often interrupted. If she lost focus for a moment or became aware that she was guiding, it would stop immediately.
Thus, to receive that tantalizing guiding, he had to put in a lot of effort. Every inch of Rose’s fingers and toes had to be dyed red. Her small head had to be filled entirely with thoughts of him alone.
Of course, he had never found this process burdensome. If anything, Claude had enjoyed it immensely.
The thrill he felt when guiding finally flowed from Rose like a waterfall was electrifying. It meant that his Guide, who usually seemed lost in her own thoughts, was completely focused on him at that moment, unable to think of anything else.
For Claude, who found everything else in the world dull and easy, this challenging task was actually welcomed.
However, after returning from the expedition, everything changed. Just the touch of his skin was enough to make guiding flow from Rose effortlessly.
The reason was obvious. It meant that Rose had been longing for him so much during his absence.
Just this morning was an example.
Claude was preparing a simple meal. It was almost noon, and Rose hadn’t woken up yet, so he was preparing food for her.
Rose, half-asleep, had stumbled out of the bedroom and hugged him from behind, realizing that the spot next to her was empty.
Feeling the guiding flow in, the emotion Claude felt in that moment was incomparable to the thrill of satisfying his competitive drive.
It was more like the fulfillment of every part of his life being in perfect harmony.
As a result, he nearly forgot that he had tormented his Guide all night long and almost started something on the dining table that morning.
…If Wilhelm hadn’t come and knocked on the front door, it might have really happened.
Claude stubbornly held Rose at his side, as if to say, ‘Where would you go leaving this pretty thing?’
Wilhelm, anxious and unsure, didn’t matter to him at all.
But in the end, his soft-hearted Guide noticed and gently pushed him, telling him to go and come back quickly while she waited patiently.
Thus, Claude found himself, in this precious time, leaving his Guide alone at home and being summoned to the desolate Director’s Office at the Center.
“You can go back now,” Claude said curtly as he stood in front of the Director’s Office.
“But Lord Claude…,” Wilhelm tried to protest but was cut off.
Bang! The door swung open with a forceful crash, almost breaking, as if Claude were venting his frustration.
Ignoring the frozen Wilhelm, Claude walked in calmly.
The first person he noticed was the Director, who jumped up in surprise. And seated opposite, without a trace of surprise as if expecting Claude, was…
“Sir Claude, you have an important guest. What is this recklessness…”
Usually, the Director was busy walking on eggshells around Claude, but today was different. This person was trying to placate the guest seated in the room by scolding Claude, albeit feebly.
Yet, the Director soon froze when he met Claude’s icy gaze.
“Ah, don’t worry about it,” the man seated opposite the Director waved dismissively.
