Becoming the Guide of the Mysophobic Villain? Absolutely Not! - Chapter 264
Espers did their utmost to protect the Guides on the battlefield. If Claude’s imprinted Guide were to come to the battlefield, it would be even more so.
And besides, who was he calling fearful? The one who acted so tough during mock training that even the Espers were intimidated?
If she were really that scared, she wouldn’t be living with Claude, the most terrifying man in Arteon. Not just living with him, but pulling wool over his eyes over trivial matters. And yet, she’s supposed to be a coward?
If he was so concerned about Rose’s loss of appetite, he could just take her on the mission. If he didn’t want to do that, he could let her diet for a while.
Claude, who disliked both solutions, ended up dragging Oscar to his house. He wanted Oscar to see Rose’s condition and solve the problem.
Normally, Claude would threaten anyone to stay away from his Guide. For Rose’s loss of appetite to be such a big issue for him…
Clicking his tongue, Oscar decided to follow him. He was somewhat curious to see how the usually lively Rose looked now.
However… the atmosphere was strange as soon as they entered the house.
“Rose.”
There was no answer when Claude called out.
Oscar had never been to Claude’s house before, but he instinctively realized that no one was home.
If even he could sense it, Claude definitely knew. Watching Claude’s face harden like ice, Oscar felt a chill run down his spine.
“H-Hey… Maybe she’s just pretending to starve in front of you and sneaking off to eat alone somewhere…”
“…Rose.”
Ignoring Oscar’s attempt to lighten the mood, Claude hurriedly crossed the living room with his long strides. Oscar had to practically run to keep up with him.
Rose’s private bedroom, the shared bedroom, the bathroom, the pantry…
Rose was nowhere to be found.
The heavy silence of empty rooms was all that greeted them.
Oscar’s eyes darted around, sensing Claude’s ominous aura. He knew how sensitive Claude was about his Guide and how unpredictable he could be.
Then, Oscar noticed something on the living room table.
“……”
While Oscar was checking it, Claude was already heading back out of the house at a fast pace. He was already halfway to losing his mind.
Oscar quickly grabbed Claude.
“C-Claude, this…”
Normally, Claude would have shaken him off before he could even touch him, even through clothes. But in his confusion, Claude, with a fierce glare, looked down at Oscar, whose hand was trembling as he handed over what he was holding.
The item on the living room table was a note written by Rose. Oscar recognized it from the distinctive messy chicken-scrawl that he had seen and laughed at before.
He wasn’t sure if showing this to Claude in his current state was a good idea…
As expected, Claude’s eyes flashed with fury when he read the note.

It didn’t take long for Claude to find Rose. However, the situation was too ambiguous to be entirely relieved.
Oscar glanced around nervously, his eyes shifting rapidly. He should have left earlier. He had grabbed Claude’s arm, and when Claude teleported, Oscar was inadvertently dragged along.
And now, Oscar found himself trapped in an extremely uncomfortable situation, unable to go anywhere.
“There’s a limit to what you can and cannot do…”
“……”
“Know your place, Rose Valentine.”
Claude growled at Rose, whom he had finally found, as if he would devour her.
Under normal circumstances, Claude could have gently reprimanded and moved on. Even though he knew what she dEsperately wanted, he couldn’t grant it.
So he was willing to let her get away with a lot of mischief.
As long as she didn’t call another Esper to touch her in the brief moment he let his guard down.
