Becoming the Guide of the Mysophobic Villain? Absolutely Not! - Chapter 31
It felt a bit awkward.
Claude is undoubtedly someone with a severely twisted personality, enough that he’d break Irene’s neck twice in the game.
He’s the kind of person you should never get involved with.
Yet, seeing him struggle alone with medications for the first time made me feel…
I don’t know.
Maybe a bit sympathetic?
“Let’s see, the medicine… Well, about 10 minutes? 15 minutes? He won’t wake up for a while. If he gets really upset, just give him a good night’s sleep or something. Pretend you didn’t see anything, and I’ll cover for you.”
Azir checked the remaining IV fluid and spoke. I cautiously approached Claude. I had no intention of hitting him while he’s finally having a good night’s sleep.
He was undeniably handsome.
Even lying down, he was a considerable length on the sofa, his long legs sticking out. A tall frame, even when fully covered in dark clothing, couldn’t conceal his robust and muscular physique.
A masculine and firm jawline, a sharp nose, thick and long eyelashes.
However…
“He looks really exhausted…”
Under the long, drooping eyelashes that covered his eyes, deep dark circles were visible.
His face seemed paler, and he looked a bit gaunt.
Even though his appearance was decadent and sexy, he seemed to be in pain.
His whole body was drenched in cold sweat.
Come to think of it, it’s been quite a while since he received guiding after his recent rampage.
With someone like Claude, there should be plenty of Guides willing to be paired up with him.
Yet, here he was, relying on guiding medicine, enduring the pain.
Claude should have many Guides vying for him, considering his status as an S-class Esper.
However, he refused to receive guiding from them due to his mysophobia, but there’s no way that a potentially dangerous S-rank Esper would be left unguided.
The guiding medicine provided some pain relief, but they couldn’t replace the essential guiding from a Guide.
“…Sorry. I’m trying to survive, and so are you.”
“…”
“…Well, we both made mistakes.”
I knew it was a matter of life and death for both of us. So, as desperate as it was, it was equally our mistake.
Of course, Claude, deep in slumber, gave no response.
Even his long eyelashes remained peacefully lowered.
“…Why are you frowning so much even in your sleep?”
Why was I having such a sentimental time in front of a sleeping person anyway.
As I was about to leave nonchalantly, I suddenly noticed deep wrinkles on Claude’s forehead.
What on earth is happening to this perfect beauty?
When I unconsciously pressed the wrinkles, that’s when it happened.
It was a familiar yet not the first time feeling, a sensation of clear and cold water being transmitted through the fingers to him.
It was guiding energy.
W-Why was I suddenly guiding him! What’s going on!
I jerked my hand away in surprise.
“Huh?”
Azir asked, looking puzzled.
“Oh, no, it’s static electricity! Because of static, I got a bit shocked…”
“Ah, I see. It’s dry these days. Be careful.”
“Well, I’ll just go and check on other Espers.”
“Why? Just hit him with a good night’s sleep if you’re so upset with him. I’ll pretend not to know anything, promise.”
“It’s okay! I’m leaving!”
I quickly fled the room.
Azir’s muttered words, “Anyway, she’s a good kid, huh,” echoed behind me.
Thankfully, Claude was still asleep.
If he were awake, I might not have gotten away with poking the sleeping tiger.
My heart pounded, trying not to show any signs.
I returned to the medicine storage room and resumed my work after finishing some tasks.
As I was finishing up my work and my surprised heart was calming down, suddenly…
Crash!
A sound as if something had broken and collapsed rang out.
“Oh, no, ugh! Why is this happening?!”
Azir’s scream echoed.
Startled, I rushed into the room where the sound came from and froze.
“Ro, Rose!”
It’s like his throat was being squeezed by an invisible hand. Azir was struggling as if suffocating.
He reached out to me with trembling hands, a desperate expression on his face.
Behind him, Claude, with a bunch of needles stuck in him, stood there.
His red eyes, initially focused on Azir, shifted to me.
Azir flew past me and out of the room.
Bang!
There was a crashing sound, and the door quickly closed.
Claude ripped off all the needles stuck in him and threw them away.
Then, he sauntered toward me.
Instinctively, I took a step back.
Claude had always been intimidating, but I had never been as scared of him as I was now.
However, my efforts were in vain.
He quickly caught up to me. I found myself trapped between the door and Claude.
“As I thought. It’s you.”
Claude stood before me with eyes glowing ominously with madness.
