Bound by a Ruthless Contract - Chapter 12
“You must have been lonely in that house? With me, you’ll finally have a real family.”
Real family? How laughable.
‘Aunt is my only family.’
Ga-eun clenched her fist under the table, then released it helplessly.
“After marriage, we should have a baby right away. Or no, nowadays people say we should prepare a dowry first. Haha!”
“…”
“You’re young and healthy, right?”
As Yang Si-mon flashed his yellowed teeth in a grin, someone sat at the adjacent table.
“…!”
Ga-eun’s eyes widened as she turned.
It was the man from the lobby.
The one she’d spent a passionate night with in this hotel’s suite a week ago.
‘Why… why is he sitting there?’
Her eyes trembled.
When their gazes met, he smiled leisurely, as if thoroughly amused.
Quickly averting her eyes, Ga-eun forced a smile at Yang Si-mon.
“Oh my, looks like our Ga-eun likes that too, right?”
Dazed by the man’s appearance, Ga-eun absent-mindedly replied to Yang Si-mon’s words she hadn’t caught.
“What? Oh, yes…”
“Really? So you agree?”
Just then, the man at the next table mumbled.
“Ga-eun.”
Both Ga-eun and Yang Si-mon turned their heads, startled.
‘What the… who is this guy?’
The man sitting there was strikingly handsome with an imposing physique that would catch any man’s eye.
Yang Si-mon was already self-conscious about the age gap with Ga-eun, and now this handsome man would be in direct comparison from her viewpoint.
He anxiously looked at Ga-eun, relieved to find her gaze still on him, as if she hadn’t noticed the other man.
‘She must prefer mature, understanding men like me. Who else would accept her despite being illegitimate? Looks are temporary anyway.’
Satisfied, Yang Si-mon cleared his throat, trying to maintain his dignity.
“Excuse me, did you just-“
The man slowly turned his head.
Though his expression seemed indifferent, the raw intensity in his eyes made Yang Si-mon’s throat tighten.
Despite his fear, Yang Si-mon continued for Ga-eun’s sake, though his voice trembled.
“J-just now…”
Damn. Attempting to recover, Yang Si-mon frowned deliberately.
“Did you just mutter our Ga-eun’s name?”
“Did I?”
The man’s piercing stare made Yang Si-mon cough and turn away, mumbling.
“Must have heard wrong. Pardon me.”
Ahem. Must’ve been his imagination. Yang Si-mon tried to focus back on Ga-eun.
“So, when should we hold the wedding? As soon as possible… Wait, Ga-eun, why did your face suddenly turn so pale?”
“What? Oh, I… I must be nervous.”
Yang Si-mon chuckled indulgently.
“Ah, understandable. It’s your first marriage meeting. I heard you’ve never even dated before. Never even held hands with a man.”
Ga-eun bit her lip and lowered her head.
She could feel the man’s gaze burning into her.
“Just focus on taking care of yourself. I’ll handle all the wedding preparations. I have experience after all! Wahaha!”
A cold voice cut his laughter short.
“Take the money.”
The man at the next table stared directly at Ga-eun.
This wasn’t a hallucination.
“The money you left on the bed. Take it.”
Ga-eun’s wide eyes trembled frantically.
“Ex-excuse me. Are you talking to our Ga-eun?”
Ignoring the shocked Yang Si-mon, the man kept his eyes on her.
“That’s the same dress from that night. Couldn’t tell earlier because of your coat.”
He smirked.
“I liked it. Easy to take off.”
