Bound by a Ruthless Contract - Chapter 2
“Looking into it, she has absolutely nothing. The fact that they still got married means she must be holding onto something. Something that could bring enormous benefit to Hwanhee Group. Or… maybe some weakness.”
What could it be?
What made that calculating, cruel old man and Kwon Si-heon accept such an unremarkable woman into the family?
“Don’t you think it’s really suspicious? This is worth looking into.”
Hmm. His head wasn’t just for show after all.
Si-heon nodded slightly, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
He could feel the hefty weight of the oil lighter in his hand.
What should he do with this?
“With something like that, knowing Siheon’s personality, instead of getting married… wouldn’t he kill to take it?”
“Hah, this guy has an unexpectedly naive side. Why, you ask? Because their chemistry is killer.”
Park Ju-seong exhaled another cloud of smoke into the air.
“If that bastard Kwon Si-heon gets divorced, I’ll snatch that woman right up and lay her down. I’ll make her do everything she did with Kwon Si-heon. Ah s**t, the lighter.”
He dropped the lighter while trying to take it out to light another cigarette.
“Ah damn, I’m acting just like Kwon Si-heon.”
Just as Park Juseong took a few steps and bent down—
THWACK-!
With a dull sound, Park Juseong tumbled to the ground.
“What’s going on, why are you…”
Jin Wu-hyeon couldn’t finish his sentence.
Si-heon stood there looking down at Park Ju-seong, hands in his pockets, an unlit cigarette between his lips.
His eyes held no emotion whatsoever.
As if he were looking at an insect.
‘He was on the other side. And we didn’t even know…’
Wu-hyeon Jin’s face turned pale.
Park Ju-seong, collapsed on the ground, looked no better.
“Didn’t see you there.”
Si-heon spat out the cigarette he’d been chewing on and added
“My mistake.”
‘So he heard everything.’
The thought made his blood run cold.
“Hold on. You know I can be a bit of a bastard sometimes.”
“Uh, Si-Siheon, about that…”
Wu-hyeon tried to smooth things over but couldn’t find the words.
“Seems you’re confused. About whether I’m a chaebol or a gangster.”
His seemingly casual words brought an icy silence.
Too afraid to look up at Si-heon, Park Ju-seong stared at what had fallen next to his face.
The unlit cigarette Kwon Si-heon had chewed and spat out.
They said it was his habit.
He’d bring the flame close but never light it, just silently chewing the filter.
He’d heard it was his process of making decisions.
Deciding what to do with whoever was in front of him.
And when he put out the flame and spat out the cigarette, it meant he’d made his decision.
It was painfully obvious that Si-heon’s decision after hearing their conversation wouldn’t be merciful.
The pain in his ribs where Si-heon had kicked him was only now starting to register.
“In my presence.”
“Si-Si-heon…”
“Even an ant looks bigger than you.”
“AAAAGH!”
Si-heon’s shoe mercilessly crushed Park Ju-seong’s ankle.
“That’s why I stepped on you without seeing. But you should understand. If the Hwanhee Group’s daughter-in-law could endure it, who are you to complain when you’re worth less than an ant?”
Ignoring the screams, Si-heon turned his head.
“What do you think, Wu-hyeon?”
Wu-hyeon, face pale as a sheet, took a deep breath.
His body was too frozen to react.
Si-heon, seemingly not expecting an answer anyway, turned back to Park Ju-seong.
“Ugh, Si-Siheon, I’m, I’m sorry, I was wrong…”
When Siheon released the pressure, Park Ju-seong desperately begged for forgiveness through his pain.
“Gangnam X-holic.”
At Si-heon’s sudden words, Park Ju-seong looked up at him with a confused frown.
“I heard their ace did that to your mother in bed. Tell her to do everything she did with your husband.”
“Wh-what?”
“Seems hanging around places like that makes people think alike.”
Park Ju-seong’s face turned bright red.
“Hey, that’s going too far! Even if you’re from Hwanhee Group, there are things you should and shouldn’t say… URGH!”
Park Ju-seong’s face was slammed into the ground.
The veins on Si-heon’s hand bulged as he pressed down on Park Ju-seong’s cheek.
“You knew better, so why did you do it?”
Red veins appeared in Park Ju-seong’s whites of his eyes. His head felt like it would explode. If this continued, it might actually happen.
No, maybe his teeth would break first.
When had he put that piece of metal in his mouth?
“Words to spit out. Words to swallow. Learning the difference helps you live longer, Ju-seong.”
Si-heon looked down indifferently at Park Ju-seong’s crushed face while holding his oil lighter between his teeth.
His calm, quiet voice was more terrifying than any angry shout.
“Who do you think you’re talking about, you bastard?”
