Bound by a Ruthless Contract - Chapter 27
Woo Ji-hyang immediately frowned.
“What do you mean? Has the partner changed?”
There hadn’t been anyone she was meeting until now.
They hadn’t put surveillance on her. There was no need to.
Eun Seon-mi.
Just mentioning those three syllables was enough for Ga-eun to put on her own leash and come under their control.
“If not Chairman Yang, then who are you with?”
“The grandson of Chairman Kwon Soon-yeol of Hwanhee Group.”
Woo Ji-hyang and Gye So-yeon couldn’t comprehend Ga-eun’s words immediately.
It felt like they’d suddenly jumped from talking about farmland straight into the galaxy.
Hwanhee Group?
Surely she couldn’t mean that conglomerate?
How and where did Gye Ga-eun meet and discuss marriage with someone from such a family?
“Are you drunk? Or did you take something somewhere?”
“Are you pretending to be crazy because you don’t want to marry an older man? Hey, get your act together. He’s really too good for someone like you.”
Despite the mother-daughter’s words, Ga-eun remained unwavering.
“He’ll come to greet you in three days. Si-heon said he has an important meeting right now.”
Si-heon? The mother and daughter gaped with identical expressions at the familiar way she addressed him.
“You had a boyfriend? You?”
“Then why did you agree to meet Chairman Yang for the arranged marriage?”
“I couldn’t even imagine I’d end up having a connection with Hwanhee Group. Of course, I thought marriage wouldn’t be possible.”
Woo Ji-hyang and Gye So-yeon lost their sense of reality at Ga-eun’s composed demeanor while saying such outlandish things.
Hwanhee Group?
‘That’ Hwanhee Group? Really?
How could this girl possibly…?
She wouldn’t dare make up stories because of her aunt.
“What in the world…”
Just then, they heard the urgent pressing of the keypad, and the door burst open.
“Ga-eun! Where’s Gye Ga-eun!”
The person who rushed in was Gye Young-cheol.
Seeing the three people standing in front of the entrance, Gye Young-cheol tried to catch his rough breathing.
“Why are you so late? When did you say you were leaving? And why are you looking for her as soon as you arrive…”
“You, is it, is it true? Is it real? Are you really dating the grandson of Chairman Kwon Soon-yeol of Hwanhee Group?”
“What? That’s really true?”
“H-how did you know about it?”
“How did I know…!”
Gye Young-cheol took a deep breath.
“There’s a truck full of wreaths in front of the company! Saying he’s greeting his future father-in-law like this, from Kwon Si-heon of Hwanhee Group…!”
Ah. At that moment, Ga-eun’s vision grew distant.
Brrrr- her phone vibrated.
It was Kwon Si-heon.
[You should have replied.]
Ga-eun wore an expression of disbelief.
This can’t be happening.
It seems everything Gye Young-cheol said was true after all.
“I got a call just as I was almost home. I saw this and stopped by the company on my way back. Here, look at this video. The security guard sent these photos – he sent so many flowers you could suffocate from their fragrance.”
Here, take a look. Gye Young-cheol held out his phone screen towards them.
Woo Ji-hyang and Gye So-yeon quickly approached with incredulous expressions, and Ga-eun also watched the screen from a step behind them.
Colorful wreaths lined up everywhere, not just outside the company building, but filling the entrance and lobby.
[Greeting my future father-in-law.]
[I will make Ga-eun happy.]
The left messages alternated between these two, while the right consistently read ‘Hwanhee Group Kwon Si-heon’.
Ga-eun unconsciously sighed while pressing her forehead with her hand.
When did he prepare all this…
“Is, is this real? I’m asking if it’s real! Is it really that Hwanhee Group?”
Gye So-yeon shouted with an expression of disbelief.
“Gye Ga-eun, tell me. How could you marry someone like that?”
Someone I thought I could only admire from afar?
Someone they deliberately didn’t bring to parties or gatherings, worried about catching anyone’s eye.
Just how did this happen?
“Why is everyone so excited? Do you really think the Hwanhee Group heir sent wreaths? Surely this must be a prank by someone who holds a grudge against her. She’s always behaved badly. They’re doing this to ruin our family! Hey, answer me. I’m right, aren’t I? Huh?”
But instead of answering the mother and daughter, Ga-eun spoke to Gye Young-cheol, who was waving his phone screen seeking answers from her.
