Bound by a Ruthless Contract - Chapter 57
Until just now, the room had been filled with a peaceful sunset.
But as Si-heon’s gaze changed, a red passion began to pour like a heavy shower inside the bedroom.
Those black eyes that had been fixed on hers slowly traced down her nose, lips, and neck.
His gaze lingered on her collarbone before settling on her surprisingly full chest, which seemed at odds with her delicate frame.
Ga-eun unconsciously drew in a sharp breath.
His eyes grew even darker at that.
Feeling something deep inside her growing hot and wet, Ga-eun turned her head to escape his gaze.
“But… how can I?”
“Where do you plan to go in that state?”
Where indeed could she go with those wet eyes that could seduce anyone?
“Don’t we need time to get used to each other?”
True, but. Ga-eun rolled her lips inward.
“We need to go greet the family at the main house soon, too.”
Seeing her expression of confusion, he added:
“Didn’t we say we’d go pay our respects this week?”
Si-heon tilted his head slowly.
“After our video call ended. When our Ga-eun went to her room and called her husband-to-be again.”
Husband-to-be.
At those words, Ga-eun’s cheeks instantly flushed red.
Wasn’t he embarrassed at all?
Speaking so casually, as if he’d been saying it all along…
“Now that you’ve had some sleep, are you okay with staying at that house?”
Ah. Those words hit Ga-eun like a bolt to the head.
Right. Even if she went home now, she’d just face an endless barrage of questions.
“Seems we have our answer.”
Just as she was thinking how annoying it was that he could see right through her—
A large hand entered her downcast field of vision.
Looking up, she found he had somehow already moved from the sofa to stand before her.
How could someone with such a large frame move so swiftly and silently?
“Let’s go.”
“Where?”
“To eat.”

Not long after they sat facing each other at the large table, elegant ivory-white plates were placed before them.
“The Managing Director ordered specially. He asked for dishes that would help settle his bride-to-be’s stomach.”
At the words “bride-to-be,” Ga-eun’s gaze fixed on Si-heon sitting across from her.
But he showed no change in expression, simply listening to the chef’s words.
“Instead of soup, I prepared rice porridge with abalone. I intentionally kept it mild. The Managing Director was quite insistent—absolutely nothing spicy, he said.”
When did I?
Despite Si-heon’s cool gaze, Chef Park Chung-il smiled good-naturedly.
“Haha, so even the Managing Director can feel embarrassed sometimes?”
Kwon Si-heon’s scale was different from others.
Through the sociable and cheerful chef’s self-introduction, Ga-eun learned she was about to eat food prepared by the head chef who had joined Hwanhee Hotel early this year after working at world-class hotels.
In a private home’s dining room, no less.
Rather than going out for dinner, Si-heon had brought a world-class chef home, and he seemed quite accustomed to such situations.
“I reunited with Managing Director Kwon in New York. I was so delighted, I almost hugged him without thinking!”
Separated from feeling overwhelmed by his scale, Ga-eun found herself intrigued by the chef’s stories about Si-heon’s past.
How remarkable that someone could be so friendly with a man so cold he wouldn’t allow anyone’s touch.
Even though Si-heon showed no reaction to his words, the chef continued enthusiastically.
“Chief Noh Man-su hasn’t changed either. Still loves his romance novels.”
“Romance… novels?”
Wasn’t Noh Man-su that intimidating man who shadowed Si-heon like a ghost?
With his build as large and solid as Si-heon’s, those sharp eyes and scar visible above his slightly lowered black sunglasses were incredibly threatening.
Even his low ponytail seemed frightening—and this man liked romance novels?
“Haha! I was really surprised when I first heard it too. Such an unlikely combination, right?”
“Yes…”
“I read some of his recommendations, and wow, they were good! That’s when I realized how narrow-minded I’d been. It even changed my perspective on cooking.”
Even while talking, Chef Park Chung-il smoothly continued serving and clearing dishes.
Si-heon silently watched Ga-eun as she marveled at the chef’s actions and his food’s taste.
