Bound by a Ruthless Contract - Chapter 63
Won-gyu nodded.
“I’ll make the arrangements.”
“Si-heon must not know about this.”
“The Managing Director finished his morning schedule early and headed to the Yeonjun golf course with the Honor Factory party for an afternoon meeting.”
Kwon Soon-yeol’s eyes widened.
“Yeonjun golf course? Why there?”
Yeonjun was where the Hwanhee Group’s family owned a resort, golf course, and… a crematorium.
The crematorium acquired near Seoul was mainly used for threats, warnings, or… disposal.
When no traces should remain.
Whether of things, or… people.
‘It couldn’t be disposed of.’ Si-heon must know he’s being watched.
Lately, his second son Jae-sung’s faction had been increasing their checks on Si-heon, so he’d specifically told him to avoid any potentially problematic actions.
“Surely he’s not heading to the crematorium.”
He asked despite knowing it was unlikely.
But Won-gyu’s response made Kwon Soon-yeol’s face crumple.
“We did receive reports about some men who harassed Ms. Gye Ga-eun at Go Yun-gu yesterday…”
“Are you saying he really went to the crematorium?”
“It’s not certain.”
Hmm. Kwon Soon-yeol hummed disapprovingly.
“While the crematorium visit isn’t confirmed, he does occasionally go there to clear his complicated thoughts. I’m sure it will be fine.”
“Yes… By the way, how was Si-heon’s condition today?”
“Very good, they say. As good as when he first met Ms. Gye Ga-eun at the hotel about a week ago.”
“Hmm. So she really is his remedy after all.”
It was unsettling. He had people watching Ga-eun, and now news of Si-heon came with it.
It meant Si-heon and Ga-eun were moving together.
Though it wasn’t ideal, he had to acknowledge that Ga-eun was not someone to be ignored.
It wouldn’t be unreasonable to grant whatever she asked for.
After all, she had instantly dispelled Si-heon’s sleepless nights and the resulting fatigue, anger, sensitivity, and ennui.
While protecting such a remedy was only natural…
Kwon Soon-yeol’s concern stemmed from one simple fact
That Ga-eun was a woman, and Si-heon was a man.
Sometimes even the tiniest ant can bring down a mighty fortress.
“Director Sung.”
“Yes, Chairman.”
“Surely… Si-heon wouldn’t develop feelings for this remedy of his?”
Won-gyu responded without hesitation.
“I believe that possibility is very low.”
“Very low… But not impossible, you say. Yes, nothing in this world is absolute.”
“Don’t worry, Chairman. The Managing Director won’t betray your expectations.”
“Yes, yes. He better not. After all, isn’t that why I marked him?”
Even if it’s unlikely…
Even if Si-heon were to waver, it wouldn’t matter.
They would simply uproot anything that threatened to shake the eldest grandson’s position.
“I must meet this young lady. I need to gauge whether she’s someone who follows orders properly.”
Kwon Soon-yeol’s eyes glinted sharply.
“If not… she’ll need to be taught.”

I should have just stayed home.
Ga-eun sighed softly, remembering Si-heon’s suggestion that she take the day off.
As expected, immediately after arriving at work, she was summoned to the director’s office and subjected to Woo Ji-hyang’s barrage of questions.
“What exactly happened, hm?”
“It’s exactly as Mr. Si-heon told you. My condition suddenly worsened, and he suggested I rest at his place.”
Unlike her daughter, who frequently used poor health as an excuse to skip work and wander outside, Ga-eun had never once used even a common cold as an excuse.
Yet here she was, taking a half-day off due to poor health.
And not even reporting it herself, but through someone else.
So the likelihood of Ga-eun’s words being an excuse was extremely low.
Woo Ji-hyang’s lips twisted.
To think this girl had managed to get close enough to enter Kwon Si-heon’s home.
The opportunities to pair her daughter, Gye So-yeon , with Kwon Si-heon were rapidly diminishing.
Though afraid of losing even the slimmest chance by showing her true colors, Ji-hyang put on an exaggerated show of concern.
“You should have told me earlier! Goodness, if I’d known you were sick, I would have made you rest at home. I wouldn’t have let you come to work!”
Ga-eun inwardly sneered. As if.
Once, after getting caught in a downpour during field work, she’d fallen ill with body aches.
