Bound by a Ruthless Contract - Chapter 74

Jane Art Gallery parking lot.
A black sedan glided to a stop.
Unlike usual when Noh Man-su took the wheel, Si-heon had driven here himself.
[It looks like I’ll be working late today.]
Not long after hanging up the phone, a message came from Ga-eun.
He had planned to have dinner with Gye Ga-eun today, and had even postponed one remaining appointment for it.
Therefore, he absolutely had to have dinner with Ga-eun.
He couldn’t tolerate plans going awry.
Si-heon used this as his reason for coming to pick up Ga-eun alone as he walked forward.
As he absently stepped on the large basalt stepping stones laid like a path through the grass, he encountered a woman just coming out of the building.
It was someone from Noh Man-su’s report about Gye Ga-eun.
Gye So-yeon.
Ga-eun’s older sister and… a key person who inflicted wounds on what was his.
So this is how they meet.
It was unpleasant for Si-heon, and unfortunate for So-yeon.
“Oh?”
Just as Si-heon recognized So-yeon, it seemed So-yeon recognized him too.
Seeing how she made that foolish expression, eyes wide and mouth open upon seeing him.
“Director Kwon Si-heon…?”
And what of it?
As Si-heon looked down at her with such eyes, So-yeon’s face gradually turned red.
Good heavens.
She’d heard he was handsome, but she had no idea it would be to this extent.
She’d seen many handsome celebrities and men who looked more like celebrities than actual celebrities at various parties, but she could definitively say none of them could even compare to Si-heon’s feet.
His face, which required tilting one’s head far back to see, looked like a meticulously crafted work of art.
Dense eyebrows. Elegant yet cool eyes. A high, straight nose and firmly closed lips.
The teardrop mole right below his right eye was truly the perfect finishing touch.
After being captivated by his face, So-yeon’s gaze moved as if enchanted to his broad shoulders, firm chest and waist, and long legs.
No matter how she looked at it, he was far too perfect to be paired with that illegitimate child.
While feeling like his cold, emotionless gaze was choking her… she desired him desperately.
She wanted him.
She wanted to have both this man and his background in her grasp.
“I never expected to meet you like this, Director Kwon.”
So-yeon smiled, her eyes creasing.
“Ah, thank you so much for the Black Membership. Thanks to that, both my parents and I can hold our heads high. Everyone’s so envious.”
Si-heon spoke with an indifferent face.
“You should bow to your sister, not me. It’s a benefit gained through her marriage to me.”
‘Your sister,’ he says.
Given his cold demeanor, she hadn’t expected him to call her ‘sister-in-law,’ but…
Still, she was the sister of his future wife – wasn’t ‘your sister’ too harsh?
But So-yeon had to swallow her indignation.
Though she could be inconsiderate, she wasn’t foolish enough to challenge the Hwanhee Group’s ruling family.
‘…No. This is better than sister-in-law. It’s like we’re just a normal man and woman, right?’
So-yeon maintained her smile while interpreting the situation to her advantage.
“So you’re really… going through with the marriage?”
Si-heon, who had been watching So-yeon, quietly spoke.
“Should I not?”
At his deep, low voice, So-yeon felt heat rise deep within her body and unconsciously shifted her stance.
“No, that’s not what I meant… I was just curious. I don’t know if you’re aware, but Ga-eun’s always been popular with men. There was always someone around her, so I wondered how you decided to marry…”
Si-heon tilted his head slightly.
“Do I need your permission? Our-“
Then Si-heon paused briefly.
He remembered how Ga-eun had called him ‘Si-heon’ instead of ‘Director Kwon Si-heon’ in front of Chef Park Chung-il.
Hmm. He nodded a couple of times.
It wouldn’t work with only one side making an effort.
“I asked if I need your permission to marry our Ga-eun.”
