Bound by a Ruthless Contract - Chapter 89
As Yu-mi’s mother said, it was an absurd notion.
This was the Hwanhee Group they were talking about.
If they wanted to, they could dig up information from anywhere in South Korea, or anywhere else for that matter.
For them, verifying whether the daughter of a small company like Yuhan Trading was illegitimate would be as easy as blinking.
There’s no way they would accept an illegitimate child.
Though the previous rumors they’d dismissed had turned out to be true…
Even so, this was simply impossible.
Seeing Park Ju-yeon’s expression, Yu-mi nodded in agreement while nibbling on cookies provided by the luxury boutique.
“I know, it can’t be true. I heard those rumors started because of how unusually favored the wife was by her mother. Well, probably just overcompensating for the less attractive daughter, given their huge difference in looks.”
“Sigh… Don’t you have anything else besides this nonsense?”
“No. Nothing. That woman lived an absolutely clean life.”
Yu-mi was cousins with Jin Wu-hyeon, known for his extensive connections.
If his information networks didn’t know something, it truly wasn’t known.
“Nothing at all? Looking like that?”
“Nope, nothing. Never dated, doesn’t like drinking, never stayed late at gatherings. Apparently had a strict curfew and always left early. Her sister was completely opposite though.”
Yu-mi remarked casually while breaking a cookie in half.
“Unless Hwanhee Group covered something up, she’s completely clean. But that’s impossible, right? They wouldn’t have allowed even the slightest flaw. Chairman Kwon is quite intimidating. Ugh, I still get chills thinking about his build and that piercing gaze.”
“Oh my, these cookies are delicious. The new ones are better, the old ones were a bit dry.”
Yu-mi tried dramatically to change the subject.
“Ju-yeon, try this.”
“That woman.”
“Kwon Si-heon’s wife?”
Oh, really. When Park Ju-yeon glared at her, Yu-mi pouted.
“What else should I call her?”
“…Anyway. Tell me anything you hear about her. If you find something big, I’ll buy you that bag you wanted.”
“What? That limited edition bag from last season? Are you serious? Quick, let’s make it a promise.”
Park Ju-yeon’s eyes glinted as she carelessly linked pinky fingers with Yu-mi’s outstretched hand.
“So it’s certain her family is nothing special.”
“Yes, that’s for sure.”
“She’ll be coming to the gatherings, right?”
“Probably. Si-heon oppa couldn’t come to Jinri Association because he had no wife or sisters.”
The Jinri Association was essentially a social club created under the pretext of social service by prominent women in political and business circles.
Being a member of Jinri Association commanded respect everywhere – it was exclusive to recognized upper-class members only.
Above all, the most attractive aspect was access to information shared only within the association.
Its influence was so great that it was said nothing was impossible in South Korea if you had the right connections within the Jinri Association.
Si-heon’s aunt and his cousin Kwon Si-jung’s wife were also members of the Jinri Association.
Though Si-heon had his own sources of information, there was no question that having family directly involved and building solidarity within the group was better.
“That woman will be coming to Jinri Association too. Right?”
“…Probably.”
Daring to come as Kwon Si-heon’s wife.
“You’re close with Yeo-jin unni, right?”
Jung Yeo-jin was Kwon Si-jung’s wife.
“I should arrange a meeting with Yeo-jin unni soon.”
“Why?”
“Why else?”
Park Ju-yeon took a deep breath, leaning back into the sofa and crossing her legs.
“We need to show her. Just how dangerous a world she’s carelessly stepped into.”

Time flew by relentlessly.
Since living with Ga-eun, Si-heon had been freed from his insomnia and was handling work at a frightening pace while maintaining peak condition.
Moreover, thanks to proper sleep, his already sculpture-like face became even more radiant.
It was as if the dark clouds hovering over a statue had completely cleared away.
His more defined features exuded such charisma and intimidation, and his cold, calculated gaze somehow created a subtle s****l tension.
With his appearance becoming even more striking – impossible to look away from – and his constant extraordinary achievements, Si-heon was riding an all-time high.
“I’ll be late again today.”
Ga-eun nodded in understanding at Si-heon’s words.
“Don’t wait up for me.”
“Yes, I understand.”
