Breeding Season - Chapter 30
Had it not been for that faint knocking sound, they would have likely remained lost in their thoughts, unaware of their own existence.
“Come in.”
As though emerging from the deep darkness, Yasamin’s lips parted. At the same time, Jin quietly disappeared, and soon only the two of them remained in the study.
“I woke up from my sleep.”
“Seems like you had a good rest.”
“Yes, it’s… nice here.”
Indeed, her pale face was now brimming with vitality. Her body too was filled with energy.
As he observed Siren, he chuckled lightly and opened his arms.
“Come here.”
“…?”
“If I say come here, you should come to me.”
“L-like this?”
Shyly approaching, she seemed unsure and tilted her body slightly.
Seeing this, Yasamin’s eyes curved in amusement.
If she’d just come and cling to him like a child, he would have found it even cuter, but she couldn’t even do that. Really, so naive.
“No, sit like this.”
“Eek!”
Wrapping her slender waist, he placed her on his thigh, then pressed his lips to the soft nape of her neck. Thump-thump. He could feel her pulse racing.
Liking the sensation, he gently traced his lips over it, and her delicate body jolted up with a soft sound.
“…”
How long has it been?
The discomfort must have gotten to her, as she shifted slightly and whispered quietly.
“You didn’t answer me earlier.”
“What about?”
“Water. How is it that there’s so much water here…?”
“Oh, this land was turned back in time to a thousand years ago, that’s why.”
A completely truthful statement.
Because this place, now a desert, had once been a lush forest a thousand years ago.
“There’s a blessing from that time still present here. But even Jin’s abilities aren’t omnipotent, so he can’t restore everything.”
“That’s because… Aquafuran is here…”
“Who knows? Just because Aquafuran brings rain doesn’t mean everything will be fine. There are still the infected to worry about.”
He noticed Siren’s ears turning red as he absentmindedly twisted his black hair around his finger, and he smirked subtly.
“You’re quite shy.”
“Ugh!”
“Have you never done something like this before?”
He slyly slid his empty hand around her waist and gently rubbed her flat stomach. Afterward, he fondled her hips, teasing her as he nipped at the nape of her neck. He could feel her body heating up quickly.
“No, never.”
“Really? I thought you had done this before, considering how forward you were from the very first meeting.”
“No, that’s not it!”
Siren stared at him with a surprised look, her face somehow appearing cute in its sense of injustice. Unable to resist, he withdrew his hand and pinched her cheek, deepening the feeling of innocence on her face.
“Why do you have that expression? I didn’t ask you to start grinding on me right away.”
“T-th-that…!”
“Can’t you do that?”
“…”
He found her discomfort amusing. He couldn’t stop teasing her, feeling a strange pleasure in it.
At first, he had brought her here because of [this], but over time, it hadn’t been unpleasant. There was a sense of satisfaction in looking after her.
“Is that book interesting?”
Siren, who had been trying to escape the situation, scanned the desk and then spoke up. Yasamin leisurely responded with a question of his own.
“Do you like reading?”
“Yes, I do.”
Her innocent eyes were filled with curiosity, bubbling up like a rising foam.
‘It really seems like she wants to read it.’
What was just a string of sentences that failed to attract his interest might bring joy to someone else.
It was a fresh revelation. An obvious truth that he had forgotten.
“Well then, read it and take it if you like it.”
Reaching out casually, he grabbed the book and was about to hand it to Siren, but paused.
Somehow, just giving it to her didn’t feel right.
Why be kind when he could playfully be mischievous? Well, there was no real reason for it. Just because.
“…It’s fine, but it feels like I’d be at a loss if I just handed it over. If you want the book, then kiss me.”
“…!”
“Ah, and use your tongue like I did.”
