This work contains scenes of sadistic coercion and hardcore depictions of BDSM. Reader discretion is advised.

“I’d like to discuss the dishes for the banquet.”

“Ah, the banquet, you say?”

“Yes. Here’s the list… Eltan gave it to me. I circled the ones I thought looked good. The ones marked with a triangle—I don’t know what those are.”

Taking the paper from Siren, Abtum examined it carefully, calculating the necessary ingredients.

“Hmm, would you like to come with me to check the ingredient storage?”

“Would that be alright?”

“Yes. You should see it for yourself.”

She hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly.

Relieved, Siren followed Abtum’s lead and moved forward at a steady pace.

Having a conversation with someone, person to person like this… it’s such a good feeling.

She felt joy in learning things she hadn’t known before.

When Yasamin returned later, she would have to tell him all about this.

But that night, Yasamin did not come to the bedroom.

Not even by morning.

Siren, who had tossed and turned all night, eventually greeted the sunrise with sleepless eyes.

Why… isn’t he coming?

There was nothing Siren could do about her unease.

She had sought out Eltan and subtly inquired about Yasamin’s whereabouts, but the only answer she received was that he didn’t know.

Neither did Pamilla or Jin.

If Yasamin had deliberately cut off contact and disappeared, no one would be able to find him. All she could do was wait.

Despite her frustration, Siren focused on preparing for the banquet.

“Oh, the menu is quite heavy on seafood.”

“There weren’t any vegetables… I had no choice but to use pickled seaweed.”

“That’s the Southern way. You’ll get used to it. Anyway, I’ll take it that this is the final menu.”

As she relayed the results of her discussion with Head Chef Abtum, Eltan nodded.

Feeling as though she had overcome a hurdle, she let out a small sigh and left the office, leaving behind a busy Eltan.

My chest feels so tight. There was no reason for it, yet it felt strange.

Wondering if the air in the palace was simply too stifling, she approached the window—only to realize that all it would do was let in more heat.

Trying intermediate-level magic here was too risky; she feared producing an effect too great, like last time.

If she summoned the wind incorrectly, it could turn into a gale and destroy the entire palace.

I still don’t know how to control it.

Then, it would be better to practice in a wide-open space.

For now, I have no more immediate tasks left to do…

She hesitated for a moment, but in the end, it didn’t take long for her to move.

Of course, she didn’t go alone without saying anything.

“I’ve been wanting to see the princess’ skills.”

“I’ll cheer for you too!”

“You can do it, Nuna!”

Step, step.

The sound of sand crunching beneath her leather shoes always felt unfamiliar.

Yet, it wasn’t entirely awkward, thanks to the people around her.

When she mentioned wanting to try an intermediate-level spell, Jin, Pamila, and even Chris had all followed her outside.

Their destination was the royal castle’s backyard.

A sun-scorched space with no shade to shield them from the blazing sunlight.

“When handling Raksha, you must empty your mind as much as possible. If you’re too worried, your spell won’t come out properly.”

“Okay.”

“When controlling the wind, spread your arms wide and imagine the air currents surging within them.”

Following Jin’s kind advice, Siren gave it a try.

She exhaled slowly, deliberately.

It feels like my body is getting lighter.

Despite the scorching sun, she didn’t feel dizzy—thanks to Jin’s spell.

The cool energy of Raksha was at work.

Knowing how to wield Raksha at the right time and place was incredibly useful.

For instance, yesterday in the kitchen, she could have made things a little cooler for those working in the heat.

So please… let the right kind of wind form. Not a gale. Definitely not a typhoon.

She focused her thoughts on that, willing it to happen.

And then—

A soft whoosh sounded in her hands, and before she knew it, a thread-like wind took shape.

“……!”

Startled, she opened her eyes to see Raksha shimmering before her.

Its mesmerizing movement was enough to steal her breath away.

I want to keep it going…

Ah, the wind was blowing.

The Raksha riding the breeze looked so free.

Siren sent the wind soaring into the air. It merged with the cool air Jin had created, forming a refreshing gust.

The breeze swept through the palace, pressing down on the southern heat as it slipped through the windows.

She felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her, causing her to stumble, but the satisfaction she felt was immense.

“Again, I want to try again!”

How many people had that wind just cooled?

What would happen if she stirred the air once more?

Her joy-filled eyes sparkled like stars.

And then—
