Bridal Lessons - Chapter 69
Iscarion hugged Rosen with an expression of indescribable anguish. She struggled in his firm embrace, trying to push him away.
“Tell me. What’s the problem? Why do you hate this marriage so much?”
“What’s the point of telling you? You already have a lover…! You’re going to marry another woman anyway… and you still did those things to me! And made everyone find out…!”
“Another woman?”
Iscarion asked back as if he had heard something ridiculous. He held her shoulders tightly, slightly pulling her away to look into her eyes. He gazed intently at her tear-streaked face, his sapphire eyes reflecting the light of her tear-filled rose-colored eyes.
“What are you talking about? You’re the only woman for me.”
“Only me…?”
“Yes. All those years ago and even now.”
Rosen looked up at him in bewilderment, unable to understand his words. Iscarion then pulled something out from his pocket. It was the velvet box, the same one she had found in his jacket pocket a few days ago.
As he opened the purple case, the dazzling diamond ring glittered brilliantly.
“I was actually planning to propose to you that day.”
“That day…?”
“The night you told me you wanted to break off our engagement. On the night of your eighteenth birthday party. Even though we were already engaged, I thought it was important to formally ask you again.”
Rosen blinked in surprise at his unexpected confession.
As he gazed into her transparent, rose-tinted eyes, Iscarion continued with a sigh.
“I could have held the ceremony as soon as you came of age, but I thought you were still too young and wanted to wait. But when you said you wanted to leave me, I had no choice but to confine you so you couldn’t run away.”
“So, telling me to decorate the grand hall with my favorite colors was…”
“Of course, the wedding hall should be decorated according to the bride’s wishes. I never intended to marry anyone other than you.”
“But I thought… you only saw me as a little sister.”
“Would a man do those kinds of things with his little sister?”
He whispered softly, looking into her eyes. His unwavering blue eyes gazed at her as he confessed.
“At first, I did see you as a little sister because you were so young. But at some point, I can’t say exactly when, I began to love you as a woman. And the fact that you are the most precious person to me has never changed, neither in the past nor now.”
“No, I can’t believe it.”
When Rosen shook her head vigorously, Iscarion, looking helpless, took her small hand and placed it on his thigh. She could clearly feel his significantly swollen left thigh through his well-tailored trousers.
“……!”
“Look, this is what happens just from being near you.”
He held her hand tightly when she tried to pull it away.
“If I didn’t see you as a woman, how could I be aroused by you every moment?”
Having experienced his intense desires in the bedroom, Rosen was well aware. At first, she thought he was just punishing her in anger, but the lustful look in his eyes clearly showed that he constantly desired and wanted to possess her…
His thick, throbbing member swelled even more under her palm, its heat and boldness unmistakable. Her face flushed deeply.
With her hand feeling the explicit sensation, Rosen suddenly pushed him away. Her eyes narrowed with suspicion as she remembered something. She showed him the letter he had written to his relatives.
“Then what about this? You were planning to send me away all along, weren’t you?”
“Ah… that letter was written a long time ago.”
To her surprise, Iscarion seemed slightly flustered.
“You used to plan to send me away?”
“That’s not what it was, Rosie.”
“Don’t try to brush it off. Tell me clearly.”
Seeing that she wasn’t going to back down, he reluctantly confessed.
“You may not remember because you were young, but I actually wrote that the day before I went to fight in the war against Ruslan.”
Before the current emperor, his cousin, ascended to the throne and brought peace to the continent, there were frequent wars. Iscarion often left the grand duchy for extended periods, sometimes for up to six months, and was sent to dangerous areas.
While Rosen remembered crying because she didn’t want him to leave, she hadn’t fully grasped the implications of war at the time.
