Can Someone (Anyone!) Please Turn Off the Auto-Skill Setting?! - Chapter 42
“Not out here. Not like this.”
“Then at least let me touch you…”
Then she pointed toward the shadowy bushes nearby. Go there. If he truly couldn’t hold back, she told him, she’d pretend not to notice if he went there alone to take care of himself.
Aaron hesitated, glancing between her and the bushes, before lying back down. But it wasn’t long before he shot up and disappeared behind the bushes.
Looks like that worked.
Nancy smiled and slept peacefully that night, convinced she had found a way to deal with the effects of her 〈Seduction〉 skill. However, as with most potions, the effects weren’t permanent.
One sip lasted about twelve hours. Whenever the effects began to wear off, Nancy secretly took another sip of Eije’s potion without Aaron noticing.
A few peaceful days passed. Every night, Aaron would circle around her like a sad puppy, lingering for a while before vanishing into the bushes with a sorrowful expression. But one day, he didn’t leave. He stayed quietly in the tent.
Has his desire finally run dry?
Nancy stole a glance at him. He had become noticeably quieter in the last few days.
Nancy alternated her gaze between the system message and Aaron’s calm face. Despite the system’s warning, he appeared peaceful.
Could the system be wrong?
When she approached to check, it became clear the system hadn’t made a mistake. From afar, it hadn’t been obvious, but Aaron was clenching his teeth and trembling so violently that his movements were too fast to see. From a distance, it had looked like he was perfectly still.
“…Are you okay?”
Aaron looked up, shrugging as if nothing was wrong. His legs, however, betrayed him, shaking uncontrollably. His hollow eyes only confirmed how close he was to losing control. Nancy hesitated for a moment before sitting beside him.
“Do you… want to lie down here?”
“Huh?”
Aaron asked cluelessly. Nancy shot him a sharp look, but he still didn’t catch her meaning.
Does he really have to make me spell it out? What a frustrating man.
Turning her head toward the tent wall, Nancy muttered under her breath,
“I was just thinking… maybe it’s fine if you touch me, just a little…”
Humans truly were fickle. Not long ago, she had been firmly rejecting him, but now, memories of their shared warmth kept replaying in her mind, making her heart race.
He looks like he’s suffering so much… maybe just this once wouldn’t hurt? Not that I want it or anything… he just looks so pitiful…
Nancy silently justified her thoughts to herself.
The potion’s effects would wear off soon. Up until now, she had timed each dose perfectly to avoid any interruptions. But tonight, she wasn’t going to take any more. It would feel better this way.
Nancy licked her dry lips, anticipation making her nervous. As expected, Aaron soon reached over, tilting her chin so their eyes met.
“You’re burning up.”
“Am I?”
Nancy feigned innocence, trying to hide the fact that her body was heating up with excitement from her own dirty thoughts. She entwined her arm around his and shot him a seductive glance.
You won’t be able to resist, will you? No way. You’re still under my 〈Seduction〉 skill and filled with desire. You should’ve fallen for me sooner.
Hiding her true intentions, Nancy put on her best cute and innocent smile.
But Aaron gently pulled his arm away and lay back down.
“It seems like you have a fever. You should get some rest. If you’re still feverish in the morning, we can stop by a village and get some medicine.”
Nancy blinked, stunned. She stared blankly at him as he closed his eyes, already dozing off. His soft breathing brought her back to reality.
“No, it’s not a fever,” she protested, shaking him awake.
Aaron furrowed his brow slightly.
“It’s fine. It’s a miracle you haven’t gotten sick already, considering you’re not used to traveling.”
“I’m telling you, I don’t get sick. I’m perfectly fine.”
Because I have a skill that prevents illness!
But since she couldn’t mention the skill, she was stuck claiming she simply didn’t get sick. Aaron didn’t seem to believe her at all. Feeling defeated, Nancy lay down beside him, frustrated.
How embarrassing. I put myself out there, and he rejected me like this?
Shock and anger bubbled up inside her. He was an absolute fool to pass up such an opportunity. There was no way he didn’t want her.
Seething, she turned her back on him and squeezed her eyes shut.
When he can’t hold back any longer and starts begging for it, I’ll never give in.
