Can Someone (Anyone!) Please Turn Off the Auto-Skill Setting?! - Chapter 75
“Nancy!”
Aaron tried to help, but the bars reinforced with powerful magic were too strong. The best he could do was reach through the gaps and choke any demon that came too close to Nancy.
Nancy fought well, but eventually, her strength gave out, and the possession wore off. The demons wrapped her tightly in chains and dragged her before Dije.
“Lady Dije! We’ve finally captured the hero!”
The demons eagerly awaited praise, but Dije slapped one of them across the face, furious.
“Chains? That’s not cute at all!”
Dije spun around, eyeing Nancy with a sinister smile.
“I’ll make you as cute as a doll. Playing with a hero doll—this is the first time in 600 years!”
Excited by the prospect, Dije grabbed Nancy’s chains and began dragging her toward a side chamber. Nancy planted her feet firmly, trying to resist, her eyes desperately pleading with Aaron to help, but there was nothing he could do.
“Nancy! Quickly, just think of me as cute!”
Aaron shouted in desperation as she was dragged away. Nancy made a pained expression. Truthfully, she had been repeating in her head that Aaron was cute at least a hundred times by now, but it was useless.
“Unrequited love is so pathetic! Ahaha! I’d make you a doll too, but you’re too dangerous—and definitely not cute. Go ahead and starve!”
With a mocking laugh, Dije dismissed Aaron and continued pulling Nancy away.

Dije didn’t think much of the hero. She unchained Nancy without a second thought, confident that she wouldn’t fight back, and proceeded to dress her up.
The outfit was a pink dress, heavily adorned with lace, falling to her knees. It was completely different from the style Nancy usually wore.
Had she ever faced such a humiliating defeat in a battle against a demon? Nancy realized too late how foolish she had been to underestimate the demon king’s generals. Dije, one of the Four Generals, was far more terrifying than she had anticipated.
“I’ll need to add a ribbon to your hair too.”
The terrifying Dije placed a massive pink bow on Nancy’s head, one larger than her own head. Nancy tried to resist, but without her possession powers, her strength was only 20.
She had no choice but to endure this ordeal, waiting for an opportunity to escape.
“Perfect. Absolutely perfect. When the Demon King is revived, you’ll be the first thing I show him!”
After what felt like an eternity of torment, Dije finally left Nancy in what she called the ‘dollhouse’, a creepy room filled with wax figures dressed just like Nancy.
As soon as Dije left, Nancy rushed to the nearest window, only to find that it was fake. The light streaming in was a magical illusion. There was no real escape route.
To make matters worse, a strange gas started seeping in from the ceiling. It was clear to anyone that breathing it would be dangerous. Nancy held her nose and frantically searched for a way out.
She tugged at the door, but it was locked from the outside. It wasn’t long before she could barely hold her breath anymore. Just as panic set in, one of the wax figures moved toward her.
“Ah!”
“Shh!”
The figure wasn’t a doll at all but a person!
The girl handed Nancy a few leaves and showed her how to roll them up and stuff them into her nostrils. Upon closer inspection, Nancy noticed that the girl had already done the same.
“These leaves will protect you from the gas,” the girl explained.
At first, Nancy hesitated. She didn’t want to look ridiculous. But after the girl warned her that if she breathed in the gas, she’d end up like one of the dolls, Nancy quickly rolled up the leaves and shoved them into her nose.
Can this really block the gas? Nancy was skeptical, but fortunately, the girl wasn’t lying. As soon as the leaves were in, Nancy felt her nostrils shielded from the gas. Once the room was clear, the girl removed her leaves and approached Nancy.
“Thank you, you saved me,” Nancy said gratefully.
“I’m just glad you’re safe,” the girl replied with a wide smile. She introduced herself as Lenny and asked who Nancy was.
Since there was no need to hide anything from the girl who had saved her, Nancy told her the truth—she was the hero, here to defeat the demon generals.
Lenny’s eyes widened with joy, her face lighting up with excitement.
“I thought I was doomed when Dije’s minions kidnapped me, but now the hero has come to rescue me!”
“Shh!”
Nancy quickly hushed her, worried that someone might overhear. Lenny immediately covered her mouth and mimed an apology.
