Can Someone (Anyone!) Please Turn Off the Auto-Skill Setting?! - Chapter 80
“Hey, be honest with me. You’re the real hero, not that woman, right? Otherwise, there’s no way you could have figured out my swap so easily,” Shije questioned Aaron, suspecting he had received some kind of divine hint.
“So you’ve been using a fake name to hide the fact that you’re a succubus. But now, all your tricks are useless. Just surrender and accept being sealed,” Aaron growled, pointing his sword at Shije.
But Shije just scoffed.
“Even if you take me down, it’s pointless. I’ll just keep changing faces and hide among your people.”
“Now that I know you’re a fake, do you think I’ll fall for that?”
“I just told you—I’m good at switching places.”
In the blink of an eye, Shije swapped places with Nancy. Aaron, certain it was just another one of Shije’s tricks, almost attacked her.
“Wait! Hold on! It’s really me! The real me!”
Nancy yelled, trembling and squeezing her eyes shut. Aaron hesitated, his sword stopping mid-air, and turned to look behind him. There, Shije, looking relaxed, was standing with his arms crossed, watching.
Shije continued to swap places between himself and Nancy, occasionally using Nancy’s face to attack Aaron. He couldn’t tell who was the real Nancy anymore, so he couldn’t strike back.
Realizing they might lose at this rate, Nancy made a bold decision.
“Just knock us both out! I won’t blame you later!” she shouted, believing it was the only solution.
Aaron nodded, gripping his sword tightly and preparing to strike. But Shije, now wearing Nancy’s face, tilted his head to the side and spoke in a teasing tone.
“You have such human desires, don’t you?”
Shije’s ability allowed him to peer deep into his innermost thoughts.
“I can see your desires as clearly as fish swimming in a stream. Deep down, you don’t want this adventure to end.”
“The only thing I’m thinking about is capturing you,” Aaron sternly denied.
“You say that, but deep down, you know that once you return to Verus, you won’t be able to have her all to yourself. Everyone will want a piece of her, the hero.”
“That’s not true.”
“You were lucky to become her companion, but if she had met Leo first, don’t you think it would be Leo standing here with her now?”
Aaron was at a loss for words.
What Shije said wasn’t a lie. It was the very insecurity he had been trying to suppress all along.
Seeing that his power was working, Shije smiled.
“I can take away your anxiety. I can make her want only you, love only you.”
“What’s going on, Aaron?!”
Nancy shouted from a distance, unable to hear what Shije was saying, but sensing Aaron was close to being swayed by the succubus’s sweet talk.
But wasn’t Aaron supposed to be immune to this type of mental manipulation thanks to the 〈Seduction Immunity〉?
Something felt off, and it was only now that Nancy realized his immunity had been lifted. She didn’t know when it happened, but now wasn’t the time to dwell on it.
“Why now, Aaron?! Don’t listen to him! Stay strong! You said you have a strong will!” Nancy yelled, desperate.
But freed from the 〈Seduction Immunity〉, Aaron was now vulnerable to Shije’s own seduction.
“I can make it so no one else matters to her, just like a forgotten vegetable. You know how effective that is, don’t you?” Shije whispered, closing the distance between himself and Aaron, still using Nancy’s face.
Aaron was frozen, unable to move. The thought that having Nancy only look at him, care only for him, would relieve all his anxieties took hold of him.
To finish him off, Shije reached out and touched his chest. Aaron didn’t even register the sensation of being touched.
“Hey! Get your hands off him! That’s not okay!”
Nancy screamed, her voice filled with rage. But Aaron didn’t hear her. Shije, locking eyes with Nancy, stabbed Aaron in the abdomen.
