Conquest Complete, So Why Is the Affection Dropping? - Chapter 1
When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was a large door.
In the midst of pitch-black darkness surrounding me, a brightly shining white door was placed before me. As if waiting to be opened.
‘What is this? A dream?’
I tilted my head. What was I doing before falling asleep last night? I remember purchasing a newly released game instead of drinking after being subjected to restructuring disguised as a recommended resignation.
Perhaps the stress of being forced to resign under the guise of a recommendation after just one year of employment manifested in this dream.
When I carelessly pushed the door, which seemed impossible to open with my strength, it slid open without resistance.
As the light seeping through the door gap covered my vision, I tightly closed my eyes, and at that moment, a cool breeze along with a refreshing scent enveloped me.
‘Huh?’
The darkness of color code #000000 was nowhere to be seen, and a vast blue sky greeted me. Both above and below were filled with white clouds, but perhaps because it felt so unreal, I didn’t even feel dizzy from the fear of falling.
Of course, the most unreal thing was the man floating in mid-air in front of me, not even standing on a cloud.
A tall, slender figure about a head taller than me. He was wearing a stylish black robe. Long, jet-black straight hair swayed slowly in the wind, and I could see a fair face with delicate features.
The man, who looked like a delicate wax doll, raised his eyelids like a robot that had just been turned on when I stared at him, and our eyes met.
‘His eyes are blue.’
As I admired his unusually clear and transparent eyes, the man slowly opened his mouth.
“Hello. What is your name?”
A soft, beautiful voice flowed out.
If a person who retained the face of a pretty boy grew into an adult, would they look like this? With long eyelashes and red lips, he seemed like he would be perfect as an idol in the real world.
Of course, unfortunately, long-haired men are not my type.
“My name is Shin Joo-ah.”
Still, I had to answer the question.
Vaguely, I remembered hearing that you shouldn’t tell your name to strangers you meet in dreams… but what can I do now that I’ve already said it?
I smiled a social smile and looked up at the black-haired, blue-eyed handsome man in front of me.
“Shin Joo. Shin Joo-ah.”
After hearing my name, he blinked his eyes as if inputting something, then smiled, gently creasing his eyes.
“I’ve been wanting to meet you.”
At that moment, the long-haired man became my type.
Yes. They say that supreme beauty can break down the walls of preference.
When his eyes were closed, he looked like a doll carefully crafted by a master artisan, and when they were open, he looked like a clean-cut idol. But when he smiled, I felt bewitched.
Is this what they call sex appeal?
‘A handsome savior appearing in my dream to comfort the unjustly dismissed soul, huh.’
If you thought this would be enough to dispel my worries and sorrows? That’s an accurate judgment!
Unable to suppress the corners of my mouth that were rising on their own, I grinned and asked the handsome man.
“I’m glad to meet you too. What’s your name?”
“It’s Cedric. I was born to meet you.”
I tried to exchange names as if making a first greeting at a blind date, but suddenly something like a confession came.
‘Well. When did dreams ever have coherence? Let’s just enjoy it.’
I reached out my hand to shake hands, but Cedric extended both of his hands and firmly grasped mine. I didn’t realize it because his body was so slender, but when enveloped in his large hands, my hand wasn’t even visible. Cedric. You have quite a large frame, don’t you?
“Until the end of the world, I will be with you.”
A proposal following a confession? As much as I like things handed to me on a silver platter, isn’t this skipping too many steps… As I was thinking this, my surroundings began to blur.
‘Huh?’
Cedric, who had been holding my hand, suddenly disappeared. Then, feeling a bit dizzy, I felt my floating body suddenly drop downwards.
“Ahhh!”
I’m already twenty-four years old, I’d like to stop having dreams about growing taller!

Warm sunlight tickled my cheek. Feeling the pleasant morning sunshine, I opened my eyes. The ceiling which was still unfamiliar but somewhat recognizable came into view.
“Have you awakened, Shin Joo?”
A low voice that sounded like it was echoing in a cave made my ears tingle. This voice is not good for the heart first thing in the morning.
‘It’s already the third day, but I just can’t get used to this.’
I stretched refreshingly and sat up. As I pushed away the blanket and extended my legs, the thin canopy was drawn back, and a large handsome man approached and knelt in front of the bed.
The shoes in the man’s hand looked just like toys. I’m not sure if his hands are big or if my shoes are small.
“Thank you, Hexion. You don’t need to do this kind of thing.”
“As your guard, it’s only natural for me to attend to you, Shin Joo.”
The man who had put the shoes on my feet raised his head.
Platinum blonde hair shimmering in the sunlight and purple eyes. This formidable handsome man, dressed in silver armor and looking like the epitome of a holy knight, was my guardian knight, Hexion.
As I looked at him with a pleased expression, a semi-transparent profile window appeared behind Hexion.
Name: Hexion
Age: 27
Height: 196cm
A holy knight of the temple. Possesses excellent swordsmanship skills and abundant holy power. While expected to be the next captain of the holy knights, he also receives envy and jealousy from his colleagues.
Affection: 55
Even without the profile screen popping up, I was certain this man was a conquest character from the moment I first saw him. It doesn’t make sense for that face and that voice to belong to a mere extra, right?
Hexion stood up and stepped back neatly so as not to block my view. Perhaps because he’s a knight, every movement was truly disciplined and clean. Although sometimes he looks like a pillar because his body is so large.
“Shin Joo, today is the day for pre-meal prayer. In the morning, there’s a history lesson, and in the afternoon, there’s time set aside for healing the believers.”
“I understand. Thank you as always, Hexion.”
“I’m just glad to be of help to Shin Joo.”
Hexion spoke calmly, lowering his eyes.
