Conquest Complete, So Why Is the Affection Dropping? - Chapter 18
We arrived at a large building surrounded by thick pipes. Crimson light poured from its high windows.
When Marvis opened the door, a surprisingly spacious interior appeared. It was an indoor garden covered with long-leaved plants that grow in shade and damp moss.
At the end of the corridor crossing the garden, we came to a clean and sophisticated hall. Judging by the heat emanating from the pipes crossing the ceiling, they had put considerable effort into the heating system.
“Marvis. Where is this?”
“My mansion.”
The leader’s mansion, huh. Now that he mentioned it, it made sense. It looked big from the outside, but the inside seemed even larger.
Pushing aside the iron bars on the wall revealed a spacious drawing room. The red velvet sofa in the center was so large I could lie down on it.
“If we’re going to drink, it would be more comfortable here than at a pub.”
Marvis gestured toward the red sofa, indicating I should sit. I hesitated briefly. Common sense dictated that drinking at a stranger’s house was practically suicidal.
However.
‘The indecency only exists in my mind. What dangerous thing could happen in this game?’
The convenient thing about games versus reality is that both the best and worst scenarios are predictable. Even with a bad ending, there’s no risk of waking up after being drugged to find your organs harvested.
So it should be fine. I sat on the sofa with peace of mind. Marvis left briefly and quickly returned. He held a bottle of alcohol in his hand.
Fortunately, he already had alcohol at home. I was planning to mooch drinks off Marvis since I was annoyed at the system constantly taking fees, so this worked out well.
“Marvis, do you like drinking?”
“It’s not bad if I’m drinking with you.”
He keeps flirting despite rock-bottom affection. Though it’s better than getting awkward or sharp responses.
Red alcohol was poured into clear glasses. Somehow it resembled the color of Marvis’s eyes.
‘Oh, this is delicious.’
I expected it to be bitter, but it was surprisingly fresh with a clean aftertaste.
Given that both the street food and alcohol were delicious, perhaps the quality of life in the Dark City might actually be better than in the Holy City.
‘Maybe they developed good food and alcohol to treat depression from lack of sunlight.’
Marvis was also sitting in a more relaxed position while drinking. Thinking it would be better if he could be even more comfortable and take off some clothes, I said ‘You don’t need to stand on ceremony,’ which made him chuckle.
T/n: You don’t need to stand on ceremony is a polite way of saying “You can be more casual” or “You can relax/make yourself comfortable
“You seem to like it here?”
“Hmm, well. I think it’s too early to judge whether I like it or not, having just arrived.”
“That’s quite an ambiguous answer for someone who came along so willingly.”
“Well, I wanted to get away from the temple, not necessarily come here specifically.”
“Yet you seem to find me quite appealing.”
“….”
Sharp guy.
If you noticed, you should properly seduce me instead of just making me embarrassed!
“You’re imagining things.”
I emptied my glass and stood up. It was to cut off the conversation.
“I should go.”
“Without drinking more? You said it was delicious.”
I shook my head.
Though I wanted to drink more since the alcohol tasted better than expected, with rock-bottom affection, getting drunk recklessly might trigger a bad ending.
“It’s fine. You drink.”
“If you’re not drinking, I have no reason to either.”
Marvis put down his glass and stood up. Coming closer in his relaxed attire, he now had a strangely soft scent unlike before. Perhaps it was mixed with the smell of alcohol.
“Stay here. It’ll be better than the temple.”
“Why should I? I don’t have anything to do.”
“Just by being here, you maintain the world. Isn’t that already the most important job?”
Marvis led me to a room opposite the indoor garden. While it seemed he never intended to send me back to the temple from the start, he apparently planned to treat me better than expected. The room was too large and nice to be just a guest room. The bed was also large and nice.
Yes. The bed was large and nice.
‘…Wait.’
I looked at the clock on the wall. It was already past midnight. Though the Dark City underground was equally dark day and night, there was a strange tension difference between day and night.
Just like now.
‘There’s no reason for the bed to be this large if I’m sleeping alone?’
Though he said he’d show me to my room, Marvis hadn’t left yet.
I looked up at Marvis with slight tension. Meeting his red eyes looking down at me made my insides tingle.
I said the indecency was only in my mind, but it hasn’t even been three A4 pages since then, so why am I getting so excited?
“Joo-ah.”
“Yes?”
“Are you still dreaming of breaking free?”
Marvis took a step closer. With the bed behind me, there was nowhere to retreat. My body suddenly tensed up.
‘No way, now? Really? With rock-bottom affection?’
Could he be the type who forces things when affection is low, then becomes sweet when affection increases? That was common in R-rated games.
Honestly, just looking at his body, it wouldn’t defy plausibility to fall into censorship-worthy acts right now.
At least Hexion covered his body in armor, but this guy, maybe because of his demon blood, has no hesitation showing off his obscene body.
‘Such a shameless guy!’
While he’s being shameless, I wish he’d be even more shameless, but I’m not sure how far we can go with the current affection level.
Not wanting him to notice how I keep having lewd thoughts whenever I face him, I played innocent and spoke up.
“Marvis. Just because I dream of breaking free doesn’t mean anyone will do. I have quite high standards.”
“I’m hardly ‘anyone.'”
Though not wrong, it hurts my pride to agree right away.
“Aren’t you being overconfident?”
“Isn’t it better to aim high? Someone like the Divine Master, the world’s owner, should naturally have high standards. Becoming a man who meets your standards would be quite rewarding.”
The man’s pectorals, which seemed even more obscene in the middle of the night, came closer. With his savage body so blatantly exposed, I had nowhere safe to look, so I inevitably lowered my gaze.
…I shouldn’t have looked down.
The moment I witnessed the shadow on the left side of his loose pants shifting and swaying heavily, goosebumps covered my entire body.
‘Oh my god! Really? Is this the right timing? Wait, is this allowed? I want to but! Is the censorship okay? Maybe it is! Will the system interfere? Damn, I hope it bugs out!’
Question marks and exclamation points were having a fierce battle in my head.
Just looking at that shadow, it seemed large enough to make me ask “Will something this big really fit inside me?” like some eroge protagonist.
Honestly, in reality, I would probably run away, but since this is a game, surely you can’t die from s*x. It would violate business ethics for an otome game to have the player die from overexertion.
Though any notion of business ethics probably went out the window when they put a walking R-rating like Marvis in an all-ages game, but I decided to ignore that fact.
Why should I care about something even the developers don’t care about? If you’re going to judge me, remove the censorship first and then try.
‘When I tried to make moves, the system blocked me…’
But it should be possible if the romance target approaches with s****l intent. That must be why I could do such things with Hexion in the prayer room in broad daylight.
‘Ah, I remembered it again.’
Recalling what happened with Hexion, my foolishly fluttering heart immediately sank again. My churning stomach now ached dully.
“That’s quite an expression.”
What are you suddenly saying?
…I couldn’t give that response. Because the next moment, my lips were consumed.
Unlike the first fleeting kiss, our hot lips melted into each other. His full lips enveloped mine, drawing them in with slow, deliberate suction. Our mingled breaths were tinged with the bitter scent of alcohol.
His hot tongue came rolling in like waves and entwined with mine. Though I didn’t avoid it, I hadn’t properly responded either, but Marvis’s tongue flexibly curved like a snake and pulled at mine.
“Hah, mm.”
With breath caught precariously at the tip of my nose and our lips refusing to part, the breath I couldn’t fully exhale flowed back down my throat.
Gulp. As I swallowed saliva that could have been either of ours, heat filled up from deep in my throat.
When I closed my eyes, the movement of his tongue rubbing against the membrane in my mouth became clear. Clear enough to feel the ridges of his tongue.
Marvis cupped the back of my neck so I couldn’t turn away as he changed angles to kiss me. Though neither violent nor rough, I strangely couldn’t escape.
It was a deep, intense contact like a dark night.
With a wet sound of sucking saliva, our lips parted and alcohol-scented breath flowed between them. His tongue licked up my jaw in a long stroke. When I lifted my eyelids, I saw red eyes gazing at me from up close.
Red eyes. Red lips. On his face made of firm lines, only those two curved seductively.
“Still think I’m being overconfident?”
