Conquest Complete, So Why Is the Affection Dropping? - Chapter 19
“Do you still think I’m being overconfident?”
Marvis asked subtly. My cheeks flushed hot, feeling like flames were spreading beneath my skin. Come to think of it, only a few hours had passed since meeting him.
‘I’ve lost my mind…!’
Realizing I was passionately kissing a man I’d just met today, the burning sensation rose to my head, making me dizzy.
In reality, I’d done everything one absolutely shouldn’t do. Following a kidnapper around, entering his house, drinking alcohol he offered, and even entering his bedroom.
It was a series of terrible choices with no filter whatsoever. Even though it was just a game, I’d completely surrendered to desire.
Why didn’t the system stop me?
“Hey, I—”
When I tried to push him away belatedly, Marvis grabbed my wrist and kissed my wrist bone. His breath flowed down my skin. Captivated by that seductive sight, I unknowingly gasped with parted lips.
It was over.
Marvis chuckled deeply and gently pushed my body. I naturally tilted and fell onto the bed.
That was the signal.
His large tongue attacked predatorily, signaling I’d missed my last chance to resist. I heard the bed sheets crumpling loudly. My mind turned bright red with excitement.
Though he was supporting himself with his arms and not completely pressing down, it felt like a massive wall loomed over me. Like a huge waterfall pouring down on me. An awe-inspiring pressure overwhelmed me.
“Joo-ah, you need to answer.”
“Hah, what?”
“Did you already forget what I said?”
The bedroom light flickered over his slightly tanned skin. Though not particularly bright, it was enough to reveal how each well-defined muscle moved.
‘This is killing me. Look at how thick his body is.’
If he hadn’t been half-naked, I could have pushed him away with the excuse that he shouldn’t get on the bed in his outdoor clothes. But the moment I became aware of the high temperature of our touching skin, all resistance crumbled away, leaving no way to refuse.
It no longer mattered that his affection was still only at 9, or that we’d just met today. What era are we living in? You can start with physical intimacy and develop emotional intimacy later.
While a narrative might be needed for emotions to bloom into love, physical intimacy can start from a moment’s impulse. These days, they call it “seeking hookups” – just meeting to sleep together.
If it’s this intense now, how much more amazing will it be later? Noticing my trembling gaze, Marvis let out a soft laugh.
“Yes. I understand your answer.”
“But I haven’t said anything yet?”
“You’re looking at me with such expectant eyes.”
I know what you want.
His subtle whisper made my neck tingle. Marvis’s face drew closer.
“Marvis, I… mmph.”
His hand, which had been caressing my shoulder and neck, moved up to my chest just as he swallowed my moan. Even though he only grabbed through my clothes, an electric sensation coursed through my entire body as if I was completely bound. Like being a water balloon squeezed tightly in a large hand.
We continued kissing while grinding against each other, entangled. The large bed creaked as it shook, and the fluffy new blanket that had never been used before slid off to the edge.
When his fingertips gripping my chest scratched at the peak, my waist tensed from the unfamiliar excitement. As I shuddered trying to escape, Marvis pushed his knee between my thighs. I trembled at the sensual feeling of my thin skirt wrinkling and pressing into my g***n.
“Ahng, stop…”
Though it felt good to rub against each other with clothes on, the fabric’s constant friction against my excited skin started to feel slightly painful. I wish Marvis would just take off my clothes.
I guided his hand toward my collar, urging him on. However, he didn’t touch me any further.
“Mmm…?”
What’s this? Why is he stopping?
Could it be this guy’s a v****n and doesn’t know what to do?
When I looked up at him questioningly, Marvis straightened his upper body, fixed my disheveled clothes, and got up.
“Though I’m tempted, I shouldn’t start something I can’t handle.”
“Uh, what?”
“If you end up hating me, it would be irreversible.”
After these cryptic words, Marvis quickly adjusted his clothes, patted my back as if to comfort me, and left the room.
I was left alone in the silent room.
‘What? Why did he suddenly stop?’
No matter how bewilderedly I stared at the closed door, it showed no signs of opening. I held my forehead and tried to make sense of the confusing situation.
Did he stop midway because the affection level wasn’t high enough? Or did he receive some kind of censorship signal from the system?
I was ready to give in to desire since we’d come this far, but everything went wrong.
Taking away what’s already been offered is the worst thing to do, yet he showed off that obscenely attractive body only to turn away before I could even taste it. As expected of someone with demon blood – he’s truly wicked.
‘Well, having s*x on the first day we met would have been a bit much.’
What was I expecting from an all-ages game? Let’s just prepare properly. I sighed and pulled up the blanket that had fallen to the floor.
As I was brushing my hair and about to turn off the lamp, I noticed an unclosed status window floating in the corner of my vision. It was the bonus roulette window.
That’s right, I still hadn’t claimed the reward I got for restoring the warp gate.
‘I was planning to spin it in my room since there were too many eyes in the plaza earlier.’
With the sudden demon attack, kidnapping, touring the Dark City, and kissing Marvis – there had been so many mind-blowing events that I’d forgotten about it.
‘Since I can’t sleep anyway, should I spin it now?’
It would be nice if I got a skill that could help seduce Marvis.
When I pressed the center of the roulette, the round wheel spun with a whirl before a notification popped up with firework effects.
You have acquired [Item: Soul Fragment]!
‘Soul Fragment?’
It’s an item name I’ve never seen before. When I reached toward the window, a slightly purple-tinted jewel dropped into my palm.
Just looking at its ethereal appearance, it seems like an uncut gem.
When I gripped the jewel, a warm sensation spread, and light flickered from within. Then a familiar voice flowed out.
-Shin Joo!
“Oh? Hexion?”
The voice coming from the jewel was Hexion’s. How did this happen?
Hexion couldn’t possibly be trapped inside the jewel. Then is this some kind of magical tool for communicating with people far away? I held the jewel with both hands and asked Hexion.
“I’m sorry, Hexion. For contacting you so late. Are you alright?”
-Shin Joo, where are you? It’s too dark here, I can’t see anything.
He asked me in a confused voice. I’m not sure where he is, but it seems wherever Hexion is must be very dark.
Is it because it’s night? Still, there should at least be some lighting or moonlight.
I looked around and picked up the lamp from the console. Unlike the ordinary lamps in the temple, the lighting here consisted of a light-emitting magic stone with a cover over it. True to their demon nature, they even wrapped it with a black chain engraved with an eerie snake pattern.
‘It’s a snake biting its own tail. The Ouroboros, wasn’t it?’
It was also a mythical symbol representing endless cycles of death and rebirth.
They probably thought a snake pattern would suit demons when designing the item, but wasn’t it used more as a sacred symbol rather than an evil one? The research was lacking.
Anyway, the pattern wasn’t important. I called up Hexion’s inventory window.
Would you like to transfer the magic stone lamp to inventory? Items in inventory can be shared with [Hexion].
Though I had guessed from the inventory sharing function, it seemed I could send items I possessed to Hexion even from far away. That’s certainly convenient.
‘I hope this helps.’
When I clicked [Yes], the magic stone lamp I was holding vanished with a whoosh.
Only after sending it to Hexion’s inventory did I briefly worry if this might count as theft, but since you can’t put items in inventory unless you own them, I decided to consider ‘everything in the room Marvis provided = mine.’
I asked Hexion.
“Hexion. Is it better now? That should help, right?”
-I don’t understand what you mean, Shin Joo. Did you do something?
“Huh? You said it was dark so I sent you a lamp, did it not arrive?”
-It’s still dark here.
What’s going on? Is there a delay in transmission because of the distance? The lamp icon is definitely in the inventory.
-Shin Joo. I can’t see anything. Where are you?
