Droit du Seigneur: His Lordship's Right of the First Night - Chapter 13
Louise had not had a chance to put on her underwear yet, leaving her completely naked below the hem of her skirt.
A chill of shame washed over her as her exposed private parts were fully displayed between her spread legs.
Without any opportunity to protest, her tightly closed labia were forcibly parted, revealing the pink entrance.
…Gasp!
“Especially a pretty girl, the likes of you tend to be more promiscuous, so we need to ensure that this really is your first night through an examination.”
Even though it was just maids and priestesses, the humiliation of being exposed so blatantly in front of others was unbearable.
“It appears that she hasn’t had any experience.”
During the humiliating examination, Louise tried not to think about anything. The seemingly endless time eventually passed, and finally, a verdict was reached.
“She is a v****n.”
“Ugh, ah…”
Only then was Louise finally released. She stepped down from the chair, her face red with the effort of holding back tears. Her legs, which had been forcibly spread for the examination, trembled with weakness.
Despite her normally strong disposition and her resolve before coming to the castle, she had not anticipated such a disgraceful ordeal. But the real trial of the night had yet to begin….
“Cherinia heard that the fief lord spent years on the battlefield, killing countless people! The smell of blood is said to cling to him. Women in his bed aren’t treated any better. Be careful not to anger him and get your head chopped off, Louise!”
Remembering Cherinia’s face, who had seemed oddly excited while conveying this warning, Louise bit her lip. The terrifying rumors about the new lord, who had spent many years in war, were not comforting. She had to endure this night with such a man. But she couldn’t die, not for the sake of her only sister who depended on her.
“Follow me.”
No sooner had Louise steadied herself and slipped on the thin underwear than the head maid sharply commanded her to follow. Louise hurriedly exited the bathroom, covering herself with her arms, and followed the head maid down the long castle corridors lined with exotic tapestries and marble sculptures. The plush carpet felt soft even on her bare feet, and the beautiful paintings on the stone walls caught her eye, but she had no time to admire them.
Walking through the corridors in just a negligee that was practically underwear was humiliating. What if she ran into the patrolling guards? Fortunately, the corridors were empty, but her small shoulders trembled with tension under the thin fabric.
After passing through several corridors and turning a corner, they reached a different part of the castle. The head maid stopped in front of a large, thick brown door at the end of the corridor.
“His Lordship is a very strict man.”
The head maid looked down at Louise and sternly instructed her.
“Once you enter the bedroom, only speak when His Lordship asks you something.”
“Yes, head maid.”
“Do not dare to look up at him before he calls for you.”
“I understand.”
“Do not make any vulgar noises or cause a commotion loud enough to be heard outside. Understand?”
“Yes.”
“If you do not obey His Lordship’s commands or dare to reject his touch, know that you will not see the next sunrise. This also applies to your future husband and family. His Lordship is sparing his precious time for your insignificant marriage, so be grateful at every moment.”
The list of instructions seemed endless. After whispering all the explanations, the head maid finally pointed to a small shelf on the wall of the corridor.
“If you open the second drawer of the console on the right side of the bed, you will find two pieces of white silk. Leave the evidence of tonight’s consummation there by morning.”
“Yes, I understand.”
The proof she referred to was the bloodstains on the cloth from the consummation. She had heard that the priests, acting as witnesses, would collect the bloodstained cloth the next morning.
As the moment she dreaded approached, Louise’s mouth went dry. She had no romantic notions about the first night, but to face it like this….
Louise took a deep breath to steady herself.
Knock, knock.
Before Louise could calm her nerves, the head maid knocked on the door.
“Milord, this is Miss Riddel, here to fulfill the right of the first night.”
Why were there two cloths? What was the other one for?
“Um, head maid. I have a question.”
“Shh! Be quiet.”
Just as Louise was about to ask about the other cloth, permission to enter came from inside the thick walnut door. The head maid, silencing her, pushed her inside.
Louise stumbled into the room, finding herself in the center.
