Escape - Chapter 16.1
Chapter 16.1
“Joder, me tengo que ir ya (D*mn it, I have to go now!)”
With a single kick, a massive serpiente went flying. Woo Yune’s eyes snapped to the source of the attack: a tall woman with her golden hair pulled back tight, her face a mask of fury. A sturdy build, impressive height, and dark blonde hair whipping around her—a Spanish woman.
“Rank 10, Bruja…”
If Geto, rank 5, and Bruja, rank 10, were here, then it was certain. Leon had arrived. The world’s second-ranked guild, a global powerhouse that scooped up every talented player regardless of whether they were from Europe, Asia, or the America.
“What are you saying? I told you to use the translator.”
“O puedes aprender español, tonto (Or you can learn Spanish, idiot).”
“I’ll kill you. I understand ‘tonto’ just fine.”
Adeline narrowed her eyes. The suddenly-appeared allies were strong, undeniably so. Which meant…
“Woo Yune, stay with them.”
“Huh?”
There was only one reason Adeline had chosen to run: Woo Yune. She could have fought, but she would have died. Not her, but Woo Yune would have been in danger. As Adeline slowly raised her hand, a massive gun, different from the rifle she’d used before, materialized in both hands. It was an enormous weapon, rivaling Geto’s sword in size.
“BFG90001)? This game has weapons like that?”
“Tonto, va en contra de la ley de derechos. Es simplemente similar(Idiot, that would be against copyright law. It’s just similar).”
Even as they spoke, the two continued to clear the surrounding area. Adeline, inwardly grateful, raised her own weapon. The sensation was familiar, as if she’d used it before.
[Skill: Metal’s Judgment (Level 2) activated.]
A message window she’d never seen before, yet the weapon felt familiar. Adeline pulled the trigger.
It was the beginning of a massacre.
Kaboom!
A tremendous roar echoed through the corridor. Everyone nearby covered their ears. It continued like this. Once Adeline started, she couldn’t stop, as if she had a personal vendetta against these mere monsters.
The one-sided slaughter had been going on for three hours. Every time she pulled the trigger, flame-engulfed bullets created an inferno.
“Holy sh*t, is that a skill? It’s almost as good as our guild leader’s.”
Skill techniques were different from other attacks. Their power varied depending on the player’s level and abilities.
Adeline had swept through the entire corridor, from one end to the other. Only scorched corpses and the smell of burning flesh remained.
“Por que estaba huyendo (Why was she running)?”
Bruja let out a dry laugh as she cut down the few remaining serpientes that dared to approach.
“Probably because of me…” Woo Yune murmured, dazed. Adeline could fight so relentlessly only because of Geto and Bruja.
So, who was Adeline? She wasn’t just strong. Anyone could use a flamethrower with enough skill and a high enough level, but a skill like that…
“What guild is she in? Judging by her looks, she’s not with Heroes.”
Heroes, the world’s number one guild, consisted solely of a small group of Koreans. So, there was no way Adeline, with her dark brown hair and hazel eyes, could be a member.
“I don’t know… Maybe she doesn’t belong to a guild?” Woo Yune replied, recalling Adeline’s act. She didn’t seem like the type to join a guild, pretending to be a beginner.
“What?! Huh, well, with those skills, she could solo anything.”
“Aunque casi pierdo 100(Though I almost missed out on 100).”
Saying so, Bruja brought her dagger down on the last serpiente’s head.
[Serpiente 100/100]
A message announcing the quest completion and the rewards appeared. She irritably brushed her hair back and checked the rewards.
“Why did you come this way instead of going to the starting zone?”
“We were already headed here before the quest even started. We received a distress signal from a guild member.”
Geto spoke, watching Bruja’s sour expression. Leon was a large, multinational corporate guild, but the bonds between its members were strong.
The two had received a distress message earlier today from a guild member who had entered the serpent’s den alone to level up.
“He said the numbers suddenly swelled, and he was overwhelmed. So, we were coming to District 12, but then the main quest started. Well, sorry to the newbies in the starting zone, but this took priority.”
