For Sale: Male Lead, Obsession Included - Chapter 75
Before Feyden even finished speaking, I ran to the window. My anxiety had reached its peak, and my trembling steps reflected that.
Ariel, who had been blinking in confusion, also rushed to the window, following Feyden’s gaze.
What I hoped was just a baseless worry turned out to be real…
Outside, I saw a black-haired boy, looking every bit like a young noble, walking with an red-haired man behind him.
Even though it was a face I’d never seen before, likely changed by some magical item, the color of his hair and the aura he emitted made it immediately clear—this was Declan.
“That’s the boy from the bakery earlier. I didn’t sense anyone following me…”
Ariel carefully observed my face and spoke in a cautious tone.
“He followed you all the way from the bakery?”
Feyden’s displeased voice reverberated in the room.
“What did you do back there to end up being tailed?”
“All I did was buy some cherry pie.”
As Ariel pulled out the cherry pie he’d bought for me, the sweet aroma tickled my nose.
But instead of comforting me, the scent felt like the toxic fragrance of a poisonous flower, attempting to mask its venom—no doubt because of Declan, with his eyes as beautifully colored as any flower.
“Looks like he’s planning to come inside.”
Declan had come close enough now that I could make out the embroidery on his clothes. He stopped and looked up at the building.
Feeling a surge of fear that he might spot me on the second floor, I quickly moved away from the window.
‘He must have followed Ariel to find me.’
I had suspected I might be followed, but I didn’t expect Declan to be so blatant about it. I was at a loss over his boldness.
Even if he’d changed his appearance with a magical device, was it really okay for someone who was supposed to be hidden from the world to walk around so openly in broad daylight?
And what could be the reason he came after me so recklessly? Were the harsh words I’d said to him in the capital not enough?
Should I tell him once again not to follow me, or would it be better to escape now?
In that brief moment, as I blinked, a whirlwind of thoughts and anxieties flooded my mind.
Just as I was contemplating whether it was wise to face Declan one-on-one, Feyden, who had been leaning against the window, stepped forward and came to stand in front of me.
“He’s coming inside, that black-haired brat.”
“……”
“You… you must have something going on with him, right?”
There was a glint in Feyden’s navy-blue eyes.

In the end, it was too late to run.
Not only was Declan walking toward the building too quickly, but I was also too slow in making a decision.
Had I recognized him right away and left my belongings behind, I might have been able to avoid Declan. But in the end, I couldn’t act.
Seeing Declan come all this way, even after I’d tried so hard to shake him off, made me realize I needed to make a decision.
If I kept running, Declan would keep chasing me—perhaps even if I hid on the faraway Eastern Continent. If he was anything like the Declan in the original story, he would find and pursue me no matter where I went.
So I decided it was time to talk with him.
If the shock therapy from the townhouse hadn’t worked, I’d have to drive him away through a rational conversation.
Convincing myself it was necessary, I tried to calm my erratic heartbeat.
“Could everyone please step out?”
My sudden calm demeanor surprised both Feyden and Ariel, who exchanged startled glances.
Moments ago, I had been pacing the room like a nervous puppy, and now I was seated at the table, pouring tea into a cup.
As expected, Feyden rejected my request with a dismissive stance.
“What if he’s dangerous? How can you trust that guy?”
“It’s fine. You can leave.”
“I’m hired as your guard. Are you sure I should leave you alone?”
“Yes, it’s truly okay.”
When I signaled toward the door with my eyes, Feyden and Ariel hesitantly began to move.
Just as Feyden placed his hand on the doorknob, there was a knock on the door.
“Master, it’s me.”
The room fell silent in an instant.
