Hero, Go To School! - Chapter 4
What in the world was going on?
I dragged my hands down my face. I wished it was just a horrifying nightmare, but every sensation of my palms brushing against my skin felt vividly, crushingly real.
Why was this kind of bizarre phenomenon, like something out of a novel, happening to me? A groan slipped out in this voice I still couldn’t get used to.
A traitor? A helper? What the hell did any of that even mean? Clutching my aching head, I instinctively rolled over onto my side—
“What, what…!”
My eyes nearly popped out of my skull. A man was sleeping soundly right beside me. I clapped both hands over my mouth and swallowed hard.
Sunlight poured over the man’s face like a spotlight. His shining golden hair was so brilliant it was almost blinding, and the strong, masculine line from his forehead to the base of his nose was striking. His eyebrows were perfectly shaped without a single stray hair, and his full lower lip completed the look. He was, without a doubt, an impossibly perfect, handsome man.
It was shocking how just someone’s appearance alone could leave you speechless. This was exactly the kind of man you’d call breathtakingly beautiful.
<Challenge Achieved!>
—You have met the helper, <Ian Zenor>.
This man was my helper?! I hadn’t expected to find my helper so suddenly, and so anticlimactically.
Hovering to the left of the man who slept so peacefully, the system displayed the words: Ian Zenor
“Ian Zenor…”
There was no way I didn’t know that name.
Any female player of Sweet Everyday had tried to romance him at least once. Of course, I was no exception.
Even in low-quality pixel graphics, you could still tell when a character was hot. Not all fish in the sea are created equal, right?
As the only son of the Zenor Duke’s household, he didn’t play much of a role in the main storyline, but he was legendary for topping every popularity poll on looks alone.
And of course, in front of me now, he was even more handsome than I had ever imagined. These reasons alone drew plenty of players to try and woo him, but few succeeded.
The reason was because of his childhood friend.
Ian Zenor, delicate and gentle as a flower made of cut crystal. He had a kind heart, but he was so shy that his only real hobby was drinking tea and daydreaming.
And there was one person who controlled him completely:
Lilian Everett.
Ian trusted everything Lilian said. Even more than he trusted his own parents.
But winning over her sharp and suspicious heart was no easy feat.
With a sense of disbelief, I lifted a lock of my hair to check.
Wavy, pale blue hair! In the game, there was only one character with this hair color: Lilian Everett. Nice!
Whenever I was short on game currency, I always took out high-interest loans from the Everett Bank, so of course I remembered Lilian Everett.
If I was Lilian, I’d be able to sweet-talk the helper Ian however I wanted. Things were going easier than I expected.
At that moment, the man.. I mean, Ian Zenor’s eyelids twitched. Huh, is he about to wake up? In no time, he snapped his eyes open. He looked like he’d woken from some nightmare.
“Ah!”
Ian threw the blanket over my face. The bed rocked as he moved. I quickly peeled the blanket from my face and sat up.
“Reveal yourself.”
Ian Zenor’s voice was low and cold.
The chill of his words was like a blade slicing through the air, sharp and merciless.
When I raised my eyes, he was already standing at the window.
The sunlight pouring in from outside wrapped around him, casting a clear shadow on the floor. His gaze was fierce and hostile, like he could kill me at any moment.
But before I could even be shocked, my gaze staggered and froze.
Uh… Wait a second.
Wasn’t this supposed to be a 15+ game…?
Unless I was seeing things, Ian wasn’t wearing a single stitch of clothing.
His body, sculpted as if it had been carved from marble, was completely exposed.
The broad shoulders, the solidly etched abs, the smooth, sleek lines of his body…
And below that.
“Oh, god.”
A raw sigh escaped my lips. The sight before me was too stark and intense. My head spun and my heart raced like it was about to explode.
There was just too much skin.
I didn’t even know where to look. My gaze rose, fell, and rose again, repeating over and over. My hands unconsciously clenched the blanket. I couldn’t tell if I was frozen because of his deadly aura or because of this completely unexpected scene.
One thing was certain this definitely wasn’t a 15+ game.
