How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 105
“Hah… we tried our best to keep that dangerous creature from wandering around.”
With a final puff of smoke, Leta leaned her head back. This house was suffocating. Since the day she entered it, not once had she felt at ease.
On the surface, she might appear to be the elegant Duchess of Kattravan, free from worries, but on the inside, she was rotten to the core. Just like the Kattravan family itself—decaying from within.
Still, she couldn’t leave. Leta had never worked a day in her life, nor did she want to. She wasn’t willing to give up this luxurious lifestyle.
So why not just cut out the rot? Her in-laws were gone, and her husband was no longer a threat. If she could get rid of Vallon, everything would be hers to control.
And the best part? There was a way to remove that abomination without dirtying her own hands. Leta turned to Leticia and smiled.
It was a dangerously calculated smile.
The only person capable of killing Vallon was someone who could get close to him. The one person he wasn’t wary of, the woman he was obsessed with—Leticia was her only hope.
“His shadow can travel anywhere. Do you know why I’m telling you this?”
“……”
“Because I pity you.”
It wasn’t entirely a lie.
If it weren’t for Vallon, Leticia could have married a normal man, built a happy home, and lived an ordinary life with that lovely face of hers always lit by a smile.
Leta glanced around, then motioned for Leticia to come closer. When Leticia hesitated, Leta grabbed her arm and pulled her nearer.
“Ah…!”
“Listen carefully to what I’m about to say.”
Leta’s face was deadly serious. She leaned in close to Leticia’s ear, her lips nearly touching it, and whispered in a low voice.
“His weakness is in his dreams. He can’t use his powers freely when he’s in a dream. That’s where you need to strike his heart.”
In his dreams? Could Vallon be killed in a dream? It was a method Leticia had never considered.
Leta was essentially telling her to kill him. Leticia stared at the Duchess in confusion. Why was she revealing this to her?
“W-What?”
“Why are you so shocked? Do you plan to spend the rest of your life trapped by him?”
“Well… no, but…”
“Then you need to kill him. You won’t escape him otherwise. His power and obsession are beyond your imagination.”
Kill Vallon? Could she?
Leticia had thought about it before, but now that the possibility was right in front of her, her heart pounded painfully, as though someone were squeezing it.
Ssssk.
A faint sound from behind caused both women to freeze, their eyes meeting in a silent exchange. For a moment, they stopped breathing, every movement halting.
Leticia’s eyes flicked toward something behind Leta.
Though it only lasted a few seconds, the tension was so thick that her palms grew slick with sweat.
Ssssk—
Fortunately, it was just a black snake slithering behind Leta. Both women sighed in relief simultaneously.
Neither of them was afraid of a mere snake. What they feared far more was Vallon.
Yet, Leticia couldn’t fully relax. If Vallon could truly control shadows as freely as Leta suggested, could he be here right now?
“Don’t worry. He can’t hear us because of this earring.”
Leta dangled a red-glowing earring in front of Leticia.
“I paid a hefty sum to a very skilled mage to make it. When only his shadow is present, he can’t come near me.”
After her husband was rendered helpless, Leta had the earring made out of fear for her life. The cost didn’t matter; she simply needed to ensure Vallon’s strange power couldn’t reach her.
After all, prayers to gods who may or may not exist weren’t enough.
“You… want me to kill your son?”
“I’ve never considered him my son. He was a repulsive thing from the moment he was born. I can’t believe something like that came from my body.”
Leta, as if even thinking about it made her sick, grabbed the trembling corners of her eyes, her expression twisted with disgust.
Referring to Vallon as “that thing,” it was clear how Leta felt about him. Despite being her son, she had no affection for him whatsoever.
No one could call them a loving family.
For a brief moment, Leticia felt a strange sense of pity for Vallon. Perhaps he didn’t know how to love because he had never been loved himself.
I never thought I’d feel sorry for that madman.
She must have been losing her mind. But if she didn’t pull herself together, as the Duchess said, she would be trapped by Vallon for the rest of her life.
Leticia asked cautiously ,
“Do you know exactly what Vallon’s power is?”
