How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 20
As the day passed, she found herself enjoying the company of her friends. Eating together and chatting in a group, her mood improved even more. The lively atmosphere felt especially refreshing after the anxious night she had endured.
As Leticia laughed and chatted with Kyle, Richelle, and their classmates, she lost track of time. Before she knew it, the sun had shifted from the east to the west, casting a golden hue over the sky.
With just one more class to go, the day was almost over. And it was her favorite class, biology.
Excited, Leticia opened the classroom door and stepped inside… only to freeze when she saw Vallon sitting in the back row.
She had completely forgotten about him. He sat rigidly, staring straight ahead, creating an odd sense of detachment from the rest of the room. It was as if the space around him existed in a different world. It made sense—no one was sitting near him.
While the rest of the room buzzed with chatter, the area around Vallon felt eerily silent, as if time had frozen in that space.
Is there anywhere to sit…?
Unfortunately, the only available seats were the ones next to or in front of Vallon. Scanning the room, Leticia saw that all the other seats were taken. It was understandable—anyone would want to sit as far away from Vallon as possible. Still…
I should have come earlier…
Cursing her own lateness, Leticia reluctantly chose the seat furthest from Vallon, which was right in front of him. Sitting beside him seemed even worse, so she opted for the front seat, carefully avoiding eye contact.
The memory of Vallon’s unsettling appearance yesterday still weighed on her mind, making her even more uncomfortable. What expression would she make if their eyes met? Thankfully, Vallon wasn’t looking her way.
Sigh…
He must have gotten treated, right?
It wasn’t something she needed to worry about. She wasn’t a doctor, and there was nothing she could do for Vallon’s injuries. She wasn’t responsible for what happened to him, so there was no reason to feel guilty for leaving him behind.
But knowing that he was sitting behind her made her back tingle with discomfort, as if needles were pricking her. She found herself unconsciously rubbing the back of her neck and pulling her chair closer to the desk.
I just need to get through this hour.
The biology professor entered, and the class began.
However, due to her lack of sleep, even her favorite subject couldn’t keep her awake. She tried to stay alert, but it was impossible to stop her eyelids from growing heavy.
Eventually, Leticia gave in and slumped over her desk, falling asleep.
Her steady breathing reached Vallon’s ears, who was sitting behind her.
Vallon tilted his head, staring coldly at Leticia’s back, clad in her white dress.
He wasn’t pleased. In fact, he was infuriated.
Leticia, the only person who stirred any emotion in him, had the audacity to ignore him. She made him feel alive—something no one else had done—but the way she scowled whenever she saw him drove him mad. It was as if her face hardened in disgust the moment she laid eyes on him.
His hand gripped his pencil so tightly that the veins on his hand bulged, dark and angry.
“Seems like one warning wasn’t enough, hm?”
Vallon muttered to himself, his lips curling into a dangerous smile as he glanced out the window. His hand, clenched around the pencil, released it just before his knuckles popped. The pencil rolled off the desk and shattered against the floor.
The sharp sound made Leticia stir in her sleep.
“Mmm…”
Leticia felt something strange. It was as if something large and oppressive was gripping her chest from behind.
“Ugh…”
A soft moan escaped her lips. But it wasn’t just that—she could feel something wet and unsettling licking its way up between her legs.
“No, no! Stop!”
Leticia jolted awake.
Fortunately, it had just been a dream.
The sun had already set, and the classroom was empty, leaving her alone in the darkened room. Had she really slept for that long?
She glanced over her shoulder. Vallon was gone.
“Couldn’t someone have woken me up?”
Usually, someone would have woken her, but today she must have been sleeping too deeply. Now, the empty classroom made her feel a sense of unease.
Feeling the hollow emptiness of the space, Leticia quickly packed her things, ready to head back to her dorm. As she pushed her chair back and stood up, something felt off.
It was as if someone was following her.
She couldn’t shake the feeling, and she glanced behind her several times, but there was nothing there. The sense of unease grew stronger as she quickened her pace.
A chill ran down her spine.
