How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 24
‘The way that guy looked at Leticia wasn’t normal.’
That day, Kyle was certain he felt something strange. There was something about Vallon.
Although what happened was later explained as a sudden seizure, it didn’t make sense—Kyle had never had such symptoms before. It wasn’t a seizure.
Something invisible had wrapped around his torso and neck, squeezing him as if it wanted to kill him. There was a chilling, murderous intent behind that force.
From a distance, Kyle spotted Vallon, who always seemed to carry a dark aura, standing with Leticia. He called out to her, relieved to see that her expression wasn’t dark, which suggested Vallon hadn’t done anything weird.
“Leticia!”
The moment he called her name, Vallon’s sharp gaze turned toward Kyle. The unpleasant sensation of that gaze hitting his body made Kyle’s legs instinctively tense up.
Vallon’s long hair hid most of his face, but as the wind blew, Kyle caught a glimpse of his cold, red eyes glinting eerily.
This time, Kyle was determined not to be caught off guard, no matter what. Internally, he prepared himself, staring down Vallon.
“Leticia!”
Like a couple reuniting after a long time apart, Kyle and Leticia exchanged affectionate smiles. Vallon’s crimson eyes, however, remained fixed on Leticia’s shining golden ones, as if he didn’t care about Kyle at all.
The look Leticia gave Kyle was completely different from the one she gave Vallon. Her gaze was filled with excitement and affection.
Leticia glanced at Vallon, as if contemplating what to do, but eventually, she turned her back to him and walked away.
“Vallon? Um, you should head back now. If what I said earlier upset you, I’m sorry. You understood what I meant, right?”
Though Vallon didn’t respond, Leticia assumed he understood. She couldn’t give him anything beyond kindness.
And if Vallon had any other feelings for her, it was better to end things clearly now. But despite her brief wait, Vallon said nothing.
“…”
Her steps grew lighter, almost carefree, as she walked away.
Leticia was leaving him behind to be with someone else. Her fluttering white dress looked like the wings of a butterfly dancing in front of Vallon’s eyes. That butterfly flew freely, oblivious to the fire it was heading toward.
The two quickly reached each other, holding hands and whispering quietly to one another. They shared a few secretive words before laughing as if something was so amusing. Glancing back at Vallon, the two then disappeared from sight, seemingly avoiding him.
Vallon still felt the warmth of her hand in his.
‘Didn’t she let go of my hand as if it were dirty?’
No matter what he did, Leticia seemed to have no intention of turning her gaze towards him. A friend? What a joke. Did she really think he’d waited all this time just to be her friend?
There was no way he would let some worm like that guy have Leticia. He had met her first, he liked her first.
Everything had been his, first.
Nothing mattered more to Vallon than Leticia. But realizing that he was nothing to her left him feeling disgusted.
“I was first.”
Right now, she was completely captivated by someone else, seemingly oblivious to him. It was clear that she had no intention of sparing any feelings for him. He needed to make sure that she would never forget his existence.
With tightly pressed lips, Vallon stared intently at the spot where the two lovers had disappeared.
Meanwhile, behind the dormitory where Vallon’s gaze couldn’t reach, Leticia and Kyle were busy affirming their love for each other.
“Leticia, why is it so hard to see you these days?”
“We saw each other at lunch today.”
“But that wasn’t a date…!”
In truth, since Vallon had begun bothering her, Leticia hadn’t been able to spend proper time with Kyle. She couldn’t even remember when they last had a real date.
“How about this weekend…”
Thunk. Crash.
“Ahh!”
Kyle never finished his sentence. A flower pot, seemingly having fallen from somewhere above, grazed his cheek before shattering on the ground.
The two of them froze, shocked by how fast it had happened. The pot was smashed to bits, scattered across the ground.
It must have fallen from a considerable height. If Kyle had been hit directly, his head would’ve surely been crushed.
