How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 37
Leticia worried that Richelle might get tangled up with Vallon and experience something as revolting as what had happened to her. There was no guarantee that what had happened was an isolated incident, and who knew if this was the first time Vallon had done something like this.
Even after confirming that Vallon wasn’t around, Leticia struggled to move her feet, as if they were tied down.
Seeing the concerned faces of her friends, who kept watching her every expression, she felt guilty and forced herself to put on a more composed face.
“I’m hungry. Let’s eat.”
That day, her favorite pumpkin soup was served. As soon as she took a sweet, warm spoonful, the cafeteria began to stir.
Leticia spotted the unmistakable black hair. She nearly spat out the soup she had just swallowed.
Vallon, as dark as if someone had spilled black ink all over him, was striding directly toward her, unfazed by the murmurs around him.
Her heart pounded, and the once-delicious pumpkin soup felt like dirt clogging her throat. She silently begged him not to come any closer, but his gaze was locked solely on her.
All eyes in the cafeteria followed Vallon’s path, which led straight to Leticia. As people began whispering, Leticia felt panic rising inside her.
She had to get out of there before Vallon did something strange again.
She quickly stood up, never taking her eyes off Vallon, and spoke urgently to Richelle and Kyle, who were sitting in front of her.
“Get up. Let’s go.”
“Huh? Why?”
Richelle and Kyle, still unaware of Vallon approaching from behind, looked at Leticia in confusion, holding their spoons in midair.
“It’s Vallon. We need to leave right now.”
At her words, both of them turned around at the same time.
Seeing Vallon storming toward them, Kyle slammed his spoon down angrily and stood up.
After what had happened in the empty classroom before, Kyle had a lot of pent-up frustration toward Vallon. He was determined to finally teach him a lesson.
“Leticia, we can’t just let that freak keep getting away with this. I’m going to tell him off.”
“Exactly! Leticia, running away won’t solve anything!”
Leticia had to stop them. They had no idea what kind of person Vallon truly was—that was the only reason they were talking so boldly.
It’s not that you avoid stepping in poop because you’re afraid of it. You avoid it because it’s disgusting. Leticia was certain that getting involved with Vallon would only lead to trouble.
“Just give up and accept it, Leticia. That’s the only way no one gets hurt. If anyone gets hurt, it’ll be your fault.”
The shadowy creature’s words from her dream flashed through Leticia’s mind, and she envisioned Richelle and Kyle severely injured. Her world started to spin.
The overwhelming tension gripping her body made it hard to breathe. Even though she wasn’t running, her breath came in quick, shallow gasps.
Desperate, Leticia grabbed their hands and tried to pull them in the opposite direction of where Vallon was walking. But with only one good leg to support her weight, it was she who ended up being dragged along.
She pleaded with them.
“Please, let’s just go. Okay?”
Please, don’t get involved with that lunatic. The sound of Vallon’s disturbing, choked laughter echoed in her ears.
“Why? Wait a second. I can’t just walk away. I need to say something to him!”
“Richelle’s right. Leticia, we need to make sure that guy never comes near you again. He keeps hovering around you because he thinks he can get away with it.”
By then, Vallon had reached them, stopping just in front of Richelle and Kyle, who were standing between him and Leticia.
For once, he wasn’t wearing his usual glasses. His gaze was focused beyond their shoulders, aimed straight at Leticia. His unkempt hair was the same, but without the glasses, the coldness in his eyes was more piercing, cutting right into her.
His sharp gaze felt like needles pricking her skin, making Leticia scratch her arms. The memories of that night came rushing back, as clear as ever. Her ankle throbbed with the same pain as before, causing her face to contort in discomfort.
Sensing that Vallon’s attention was fixed on the person behind her, Richelle shifted to block his line of sight and demanded answers.
“Vallon, why do you keep following Leticia?!”
