How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 5
Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye.
Since that day, Vallon had been crossing paths with Leticia so often that it was beginning to unsettle her. No matter where she went, he was always there.
Almost as if he was following her.
Though it left her feeling a bit uneasy, she thought perhaps she was just noticing him more because of what had happened between them.
Thankfully, the wounds around his mouth seemed to have healed, and there were no new injuries. It appeared Ribolt hadn’t bullied him again.
Beyond that, it wasn’t something she needed to concern herself with.
“Leticia, don’t you think you’ve been seeing him more often these days?” Richelle asked, glancing toward Vallon, who wasn’t far away, her head tilted in curiosity.
It seemed Leticia wasn’t the only one who thought she had been running into him frequently.
Vallon was alone again today, as usual.
“Ugh… Why is he always so creepy? It’s like a ghost will appear any second.”
“Yeah, I wonder why he’s like that.”
If he just cleaned himself up a little, he could probably make some friends. It was a pity that the future Duke of Kattravan was stuck with the reputation of a loner.
“Exactly. They say Vallon’s the only son of Duke Kattravan. So, that means he’ll become the next Duke, right? Ugh, I can’t even imagine that.”
Richelle shivered dramatically and ran her hands up her arms. It really did feel like the air froze whenever Vallon was around, as if the atmosphere itself became eerie.
“But Leticia, did you hear about this?”
“What?”
They were walking from the dormitory toward their class when Richelle, as if she was about to share something shocking, started speaking in an exaggerated manner.
“You know, I heard Ribolt seriously injured his hand.”
“What? How?”
“They said something fell on him? His right hand’s bones were completely shattered. Apparently, he’s not coming back to the academy anymore.”
Leticia’s expression darkened at Richelle’s words. It might be good news for those who had been bullied by Ribolt, but it was still a cruel accident.
At that moment, Leticia’s gaze drifted to Vallon, who was sitting on a bench in front of the boys’ dormitory. She quickly looked away, fearing that Vallon might notice and try to talk to her.
Was he waiting for someone, sitting there like a statue? Did he already hear the rumors about Ribolt’s injury…?
While it was a relief that Vallon wasn’t being bullied anymore, Leticia couldn’t help but feel some sympathy for Ribolt. Despite everything, Ribolt had been a decent friend to her.
It seemed Richelle felt the same.
“Should we visit Ribolt? I don’t think he’d mind if you went.”
“Would that be okay? Maybe we should wait until he’s ready to meet people.”
No matter how much Ribolt liked her, now didn’t seem like the right time.
“Maybe you’re right. Let’s wait a little longer then.”
“Yeah, let’s do that.”
Just then, Vallon turned his head toward Leticia. He was far enough away that he couldn’t have overheard their conversation, but they instinctively lowered their voices anyway.
Before the lecture started, people were gathered here and there, chatting in small groups. Leticia was sitting in the center, with people all around her. She sat on the desk, legs crossed, enjoying the attention she received from both boys and girls alike.
The approving stares from everyone were always thrilling.
“Leticia, what perfume are you wearing today? It smells amazing.”
“Leticia! Do you want to have lunch with me today?”
SLAM!
A loud noise interrupted the peace.
“Ah! What was that? You scared me!”
Someone shouted in surprise at the sound of the classroom’s back door being slammed open. The noisy chatter came to a halt as everyone turned to look at the source of the sound.
However, when they realized it was just Vallon, their interest quickly faded, and they turned away indifferently.
“Oh, it’s Vallon. What a killjoy.”
“Ugh, great. What a bad omen for the day.”
“Why does he always slam the door like that? Does he want attention or something? Pfft…”
Everyone brushed off the disruption with a sigh and returned to their conversations. His presence really did have a way of ruining the mood.
Was he even supposed to be in this class? Leticia glanced at Vallon, who had opened the door but remained standing in place, not moving to take a seat.
What’s he doing just standing there?
Perhaps it was because of the loud remark earlier about him being a bad omen, but the classroom quickly fell into an awkward silence. Leticia couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for Vallon. It wasn’t like anyone wanted to look that gloomy on purpose.
Everyone preferred pretty, glamorous things. No one wanted something dull and unattractive nearby. Leticia was no exception.
If only he would do something about that messy hair… Doesn’t it bother him?
