How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 52
Just as Vallon had promised, everything returned to how it once was.
After taking Leticia out of the repulsive red-light district, the first thing he did was restore her home to its former state. The house, which had been left in shambles, was now spotless, as if nothing had ever happened. Looking at it, no one would believe the extent of the tragedy that had occurred there.
All their debts were also paid off. Whether the money had originally belonged to her parents or came from Vallon’s pocket, Leticia couldn’t say for sure.
But one thing was clear—Vallon had taken care of everything.
What a disgusting and manipulative man.
Vallon was a devil with a blackened soul.
“Thank you, thank you so much, Young Duke Kattravan…”
“We are truly grateful. We will repay this debt for the rest of our lives.”
Leticia’s parents bowed deeply to Vallon, who sat on their living room sofa like a master, thanking him over and over again.
Although everything had been restored, one thing hadn’t: Leticia’s heart, which had been scarred by the betrayal of her parents. The sight of them smiling as if nothing had happened after they had sold her off made her sick.
Were they truly her parents? Could people who abandoned their child in times of hardship be called family?
For some reason, their smiles didn’t warm her heart the way it used to. Distrust and resentment toward her parents began to take root in her mind.
“Leticia, what are you doing just standing there? Come here and thank him!” her mother called out.
How could they act so shamelessly after selling me to a place like that? Do they even care what I went through there?
Her parents didn’t mention a single word about what had happened, as if it had all been erased from memory. Leticia stared at Vallon and her parents gathered in the living room, feeling a wave of nausea rising within her.
The home she returned to no longer felt warm or comforting.
Even though everything seemed wrong, showing her discomfort was foolish. She couldn’t predict what Vallon might do next.
The last thing she wanted was to return to that horrid place.
Finally, Leticia spoke, forcing the words out of her mouth.
“Thank you…”
Her mother, Sharon, glanced at Vallon, now fully grown, with a sidelong look. His appearance was beautiful and captivating as ever, but the cold, cynical glint in his eyes made him seem inhuman.
When Leticia was younger, she had visited the Kattravan household several times to play. Leticia had long erased the memories of those visits from her mind, but Sharon could never forget the shocking incident she witnessed there.
She recalled the time when Vallon, as a child, had stabbed another boy’s eye with a fork and sat there, expressionless. He hadn’t smiled, acting as if he’d seen it all before, as if the world held no surprises for him, despite being only nine years old.
Back then, she had thought it was strange but hadn’t considered that there might be something seriously wrong with him.
How dangerous could a child possibly be? But that boy had shattered all her assumptions. Would such a cruel child really have changed over the years?
It seemed more likely that he had only grown more ruthless.
Why was the Kattravan family so eager to help their family, which had no real connection to them?
Sharon couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling, but what choice did they have? Without the help of the Kattravan Duchy, her family would never have recovered. They couldn’t live their lives in that crumbling shack, like beggars, forever.
Sharon and her husband had felt guilty after selling their daughter, but now everything had returned to normal. Leticia might have been hurt, but that could be healed over time.
For now, survival was their priority, and they had no choice but to bow deeply before the suspicious Young Duke Kattravan.
“I’m glad to see everyone so happy,” Vallon said, sounding satisfied as he tapped his foot and gazed at the three people bowing before him.
He was pleased. He now had another way to control Leticia—new pawns in the game.
Her parents were helpless without him, like a pair of cripples. He could barely suppress the urge to hum a tune.
“It’s late already. Would it be alright if I stayed the night here?” Vallon asked, sounding as if it were a perfectly normal request.
The house was still in disarray, and there were no servants to tend to him, so Leticia’s father, Tez, crossed his arms awkwardly and tried to explain the situation to the unbothered Vallon.
