How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 62
Vallon’s piercing gaze tightened around her, making it difficult to breathe. It wasn’t just a feeling—she was actually suffocating. The more intense his gaze became, the more a shapeless force constricted around her body.
“Hht… I… can’t breathe…”
Lying beside her, his arms still resting on her chest, Vallon was using some invisible force to oppress her. That’s what truly terrified her. His physical arms were still there, but it felt as though an unseen power was binding her.
This was why Leticia feared Vallon more than anything. She couldn’t gauge the extent of his abilities, and that uncertainty filled her with dread. As the days passed, she realized more and more that no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t escape the ominous force that surrounded her.
Was escape even possible?
“Why do you keep pushing me away?”
Vallon asked in a soft, almost gentle voice—completely unfitting for the situation—as he watched her struggle for breath.
The combination of his words and the torment he was inflicting sent shivers down her spine. Did he really not understand what he was doing?
“How can I not… push you away when you’re doing this…!” Leticia spat out between gasps.
Vallon, as if he were handling something precious, gently stroked her pale cheek. Though his touch was soft, it made her skin crawl as if something disgusting were crawling over her body.
She considered spitting at him but hesitated. Unlike before, impulsive actions no longer came naturally. Her subconscious, surrendering to the overwhelming power he held over her, stopped her from making any rash decisions.
What would happen after? She couldn’t even imagine. Her mind had already accepted that there was no way to break free from his control.
“You hated me even before I started doing this, didn’t you?”
Vallon whispered, still caressing her.
“I have no one else but you. I don’t need anything or anyone else. Just you. If I have you, everything will be peaceful. So why do you keep provoking me?”
Leticia had no intention of provoking him. How could she? Her body recoiled from him—how could she change that? It wasn’t as though she had any control over how much she despised him.
“Should I lock you away somewhere so that no one else can see you? Then you would have no one but me. You’d eat the food I give you, live off the love I give you. Eventually, you’d have no choice but to wait for me, even if you hated me.”
As Vallon murmured this absurd fantasy, his hand slid down her delicate neck, fingers tracing along her collarbone. The sensation of his touch sent a burning heat through her skin.
“Ugh…”
Her shoulders tensed as she tried to protect her neck, a reflex to his touch. But all she could do was shift her body slightly, just enough to shield herself a bit.
His eerie words were whispered deliberately into her ear. The low, chilling tone of his voice didn’t escape into the air; instead, it struck her eardrums like a hammer.
“Then I wouldn’t have to worry about those insects around you. Wouldn’t that be nice?”
“Vallon… s-stop… Don’t say such horrible things.”
Leticia’s lips trembled uncontrollably as she spoke. The muscles in her face seized up, making it difficult to form expressions.
She had no doubt that Vallon would be capable of something like that. Her family’s trading company hadn’t been small. If he had enough power to ruin an entire business overnight, locking her up in a basement or some secluded room would be nothing for him.
“You wouldn’t really… do something like that, right?”
Vallon’s lips curled into a smile as he squinted at her. It wasn’t the gloomy, ominous smile he used to have, but there was still a deviousness hidden in that grin.
“Of course not. I’m just joking.”
Vallon said this nonchalantly, his eyes darting mischievously. Yet, even with his reassurances, Leticia felt no relief. Who makes jokes like that? Just the fact that he’d thought of such things was horrifying in itself.
“As long as you listen to me, I won’t have any reason to do that. So don’t make me jealous, okay?”
With those words, he planted a light kiss on her cheek, his tone laced with menace. The absurdity of the situation was overwhelming.
Suddenly, the invisible force that had been constricting her vanished. Her limbs were free to move, and she could finally breathe properly, but the sensation of being suffocated hadn’t entirely disappeared. She still felt trapped.
“Leticia, winter break is finally over.”
Leticia looked at Vallon, who was sitting beside her, and stayed silent. The only small relief was knowing that she would be returning to the academy soon. At least she could focus on her goal of graduating—something she still hoped to achieve.
This winter had been long and bitter, a winter she never wanted to experience again. It was so dreadful that she doubted she would ever experience spring again.
But she needed spring to come, to chase away the darkness that had consumed her.
