How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 66
“Hey, Leticia?”
Leticia turned around as someone called her. It was the man who had been watching her from a distance for a while. His name was Kevin, right? They shared many classes, so she knew his name. With his decent looks and a few pleasant conversations they’d had, he had left a good impression on her.
“Did you have a good break?”
But she couldn’t treat him the way she used to. The Leticia who enjoyed mingling with people and showing off in their group was no longer there.
After confirming it was Kevin, the first thing she did was look at Vallon’s face. She feared Kevin might get hurt because of her, just like Ribolt, Eric, and Kyle had. She couldn’t simply smile at him, not with Vallon nearby.
“Uh-huh…”
“You’ve gotten even prettier.”
Kevin complimented her, looking shy, but Leticia’s expression stiffened. She rubbed her sweaty hands on her skirt, trying to signal her discomfort to Kevin.
But he didn’t seem to pick up on it, continuing to smile and speak to her in a friendly manner.
“Leticia, what classes are you taking this time? You’re still going to take Pharmacology, right?”
“Oh, I’m not sure yet…”
His tone was full of affection.
Please, Kevin, if you don’t want to get caught in this nightmare, stay away from me!
“Then, how about we…”
“How about you what?”
Vallon, who had been standing silently, suddenly cut into the conversation.
“What are you going to do together?”
Kevin froze for a moment, sensing a dark, oppressive energy from above. He didn’t recognize the man standing with Leticia. Someone with such striking looks couldn’t have gone unnoticed.
Who was he? His cold, expressionless eyes were chilling.
And then there was that strange, unsettling force emanating from him, creeping up Kevin’s spine like an icy hand. Kevin had been about to say something, but now his mind went blank.
What was I going to say? Oh, right… I was going to ask her to join me for class.
Kevin finally managed to speak.
“If you’re taking the pharmacology class, how about partnering with me?”
“Really? What do you think, Leticia?”
Kevin’s suggestion was dangerous. There was no way Vallon would let someone cozy up to her like that.
Leticia’s answer was already decided.
“Sorry, Kevin. I don’t think that’s going to work.”
“What? Why not?”
Kevin was top of the class in pharmacology. Partnering with him would have been a great opportunity to score high marks. He had expected her to say yes, but she refused?
“Because the only person who can partner with Leticia… is me.”
Though Kevin had asked Leticia, the man standing beside her answered instead. It was clear even with just a glance that Leticia felt uncomfortable with him.
Who is this guy? Is he from some big, important family?
“I wasn’t asking you. Who are you, anyway, to butt into our conversation?”
“Vallon. Vallon Kattravan.”
The tall man standing in front of Kevin introduced himself with a cold smirk, locking eyes with Kevin without offering any further explanation.
“What? That outcast Vallon?”
“Probably.”
The Vallon Kevin remembered had been nothing more than a gloomy outcast. But what had happened during the break?
Gone were the shaggy hair and thick glasses. He looked like a completely different person now. And those eyes—Kevin had never realized how arrogant they could be.
But wait, isn’t Vallon younger than him?
“Since when does a younger guy like you get to speak to me like that?”
Vallon didn’t respond, just staring down at Kevin with a quiet, derisive smile.
What’s with this attitude? Was that a smirk? And… has he always been this tall?
Kevin locked eyes with Vallon, but suddenly found it difficult to breathe, as though his throat had clamped shut. Each breath came with a wheezing sound, as though someone were strangling him.
In an instant, Kevin’s face turned pale, and he was gasping as though about to collapse.
“Stop it, Vallon.”
It was clear Vallon was using his power again. Leticia grabbed his hand, pulling him away with all her strength.
Once again, she wondered why Vallon had let others push him around so much when he was this strong? She couldn’t understand.
“I’m not partnering with Kevin. So… let’s go.”
Vallon seemed pleased that Leticia had taken his hand first, smiling contentedly. Even that smile felt fake, making her shudder with disgust.
Still, she had no choice. If she left the two of them alone any longer, who knew what might happen to Kevin. She had to get Vallon away from him, so she clenched her teeth and took his hand.
Finally, the dorms came into view. Although they weren’t far from the academy entrance, the walk had felt painfully long, like it had taken forever to reach them.
At last, it was time to part ways with Vallon.
“We’re here. You should go now, Vallon.”
“I don’t want to.”
“I’m really tired… My head hurts so much.”
“Alright, go ahead.”
The fact that she could finally get Vallon to leave her side after arriving at the academy was a relief.
One day, she would find a way to remove him from her life for good. That thought fueled her determination.
