How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 80
“Leticia, I want to be with you like this every day.”
Vallon’s low voice slowly faded from her ears. The humming sound of his voice eventually disappeared into the darkness.
“Sweet dreams.”
Even in her dazed state, Leticia thought she heard him wish her a pleasant dream. Perhaps because of his words, she found herself standing on a bright, sunny day, where the gentle spring breeze was blowing.
The flowers were in full bloom, and the freshly sprouted green leaves radiated with vibrancy. Most of all, the brightness surrounding her felt comforting.
There was no darkness, no Vallon following her like a shadow, and she relished in the freedom.
Her chest felt light, as though she had returned to a time before she ever met Vallon.
“Waah! Hahaha!”
“I’m first!”
In the distance, she heard the sound of children laughing. Curious about what was so amusing, Leticia walked towards the joyful sounds.
Step by step, the familiar image of a house with a blue iron gate appeared before her. She had seen this house in a dream once before. The enormous gate was wide open, almost as if it was inviting her in.
Inside, the children’s laughter continued without pause.
‘I want to join in and play too.’
Leticia’s pace quickened. There were about ten children gathered around one child who sat in a tall chair. The child with black hair sat expressionless, unlike the other children, who were full of energy.
He looked bored, resting his chin on his hand with an uninterested expression. The air around him felt cold and heavy, as if the space near him was frozen.
As she looked closer, Leticia realized that the children weren’t playing joyfully. Instead, they were all trying to gain favor with the boy sitting in the chair.
From afar, she could sense an invisible line dividing them. The boy sitting like a king was dressed in the finest clothes, easily distinguishable as being of the highest quality. He must have been the most powerful among the group.
“Do you want to play tag with us?”
“I can tell you a fun story!”
“Do you know how to catch fish?”
Who was this boy that everyone was trying so hard to impress?
The boy in the chair stared coldly at the other children, his gaze far too mature and detached for someone his age, as if he were looking down at insignificant insects.
“Move aside.”
“Ow!”
Suddenly, a smaller child was pushed forward and stumbled, landing near the knees of the boy with black hair. The fallen child quickly stood up and bowed repeatedly, apologizing.
“I’m… I’m so sorry, Young Duke!”
The child hadn’t done anything on purpose, but the boy showed no mercy. He harshly shoved the apologizing child away, sending him crashing to the ground with a loud thud.
Leticia winced as the sound of the small child’s fall echoed across the space. The child had hit his head hard, and blood trickled from the wound.
‘Isn’t that too much? It didn’t look like he did it on purpose.’
Leticia frowned at the scene.
A slight smirk appeared on the boy’s face, just for a moment, as if the display had finally piqued his interest. He sat up straighter, watching the fallen child with the air of a noble.
‘That smile…’
Leticia knew who the boy was.
Though smaller and with chubbier cheeks than she was used to, it was undeniably Vallon.
What she had thought was a pleasant dream quickly turned foul at the sight of Vallon, even as a child.
This dream felt disturbingly vivid, too real—down to the weather, the smells, and the sounds. Everything came back to her like a vivid memory.
Where is this place? It wasn’t anywhere Leticia recognized. She looked up at the massive mansion before her. She had never seen such a grand and opulent building. It looked more like a castle than a mansion.
This was the place from the portrait she had seen in Vallon’s room.
“Hello?”
A boy with shaggy, curly hair greeted Leticia. His hair hung over his forehead, almost covering his face, making it difficult to see his features, but she could just make out his ashen-colored eyes—the same eyes that had cried blood in her dreams, warning her to run.
This felt all too familiar. It was so vivid that she couldn’t tell if it was a dream or reality.
“H-Hello?”
What is this strange feeling?
Despite the boy’s greeting, Leticia couldn’t shake the ominous feeling that something bad was about to happen. She kept glancing nervously at young Vallon, watching for any signs of trouble.
The fact that she had to be cautious of Vallon even in her dreams felt unfair. Still, his eyes remained fixed on her and the boy.
It was an unsettling feeling, as if he might come running over at any moment. But then she reminded herself that it was just a dream. Surely, he couldn’t harm anyone here.
‘It’ll be fine. It’s just a dream.’
