How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 81
The boy continued to talk to her, but none of his words registered. Leticia’s attention remained fixed on Vallon, who soon lost interest and turned his gaze elsewhere.
The boy kept trying to talk, but none of it registered with Leticia. She glanced over at Vallon, but young Vallon seemed to have lost interest quickly and shifted his attention elsewhere.
Thank goodness. He didn’t seem too interested… With that sense of relief, she let her guard down, thinking it was just a dream.
Leticia watched Vallon turn away, curiously looking over something on a table, and she turned her attention back to the boy in front of her.
Why did this boy keep appearing in her dreams? Come to think of it, he was in that photograph too. Who was he, and why did he keep showing up?
“What’s your name?”
“Erun!”
“Erun…”
Hidden within his long hair were innocent, bright eyes. Though gray eyes were common, his had a cloudy, almost misty quality to them, which made them seem unique. His round, sparkling eyes looked like little marbles.
He has such pretty eyes.
She found herself liking the gentle look in the boy’s eyes.
“Your eye color is really pretty.”
“N-No, you’re prettier,” he replied, clearly flustered.
What she had meant to keep to herself had slipped out of her mouth, and the boy blushed shyly. At that moment, Vallon suddenly stood up.
But Leticia, with her back turned, didn’t notice it.
Step, step.
Vallon approached them, hiding something sharp and dangerous behind his back. In what seemed like an instant, he was standing right behind her.
He was smaller than I was back then. Vallon had been so small and weak that he could have been easily pushed away.
“Now, come play with me.”
Young Vallon blinked his large eyes, his angelic face looking sweet and innocent. But there was still that same cold, detached expression behind it, the one that lacked warmth.
For some reason, she felt like she had to get this boy away from Vallon. Grabbing the boy’s hand, Leticia turned to leave.
“Sorry..! Play by yourself.”
Shhnk!
Something warm splashed onto Leticia’s hand. Even in a dream, the sensation felt disturbingly real.
What happened next was horrifying, and it happened in an instant.
“Kya…! Aaaaah!!!”
Just as she was turning away, Vallon had used the fork he’d hidden behind his back to stab the boy in the eye.
Then, with blood splattered across his face—matching the color of his own red eyes—Vallon smiled and said, “I told you not to get any ideas.”
The blood splattered across his face looked like dozens of glaring eyes. Pure terror took over Leticia’s mind, and her heart felt like it was going to explode.
“AAHHHH!”
Leticia screamed and woke up from the dream.
The memory came back.
This wasn’t just a dream. It was something that had actually happened. She had met Vallon as a child.
How could I have forgotten this?
If she had remembered, she would have avoided him completely.
She was certain she had fallen asleep with her arms around him, but now, in front of her was Vallon’s broad chest. This monster had been a cruel demon even as a child.
Leticia’s body trembled in fear. It felt like she had made the gravest mistake of her life by getting entangled with him. The chance to escape this demon might have only existed back when he was still smaller and weaker than her.
I should have killed him then…
“Did you wake up?”
“……”
“Was it a scary dream?”
Vallon gently stroked Leticia’s head, almost tenderly.
“It looks like you remembered our first meeting. How does it feel?”
How does it feel? How could someone be so evil from such a young age? Could a child really be that cruel?
Was that nightmare also Vallon’s doing?
Although her memories had returned, so too had the guilt over the harm caused by him.
“Why do you torment me like this? Did I ever do something to you back then?”
“I told you, no.”
“Then why?”
“Because I like you, Leticia.”
The hand resting on her back felt slimy and snake-like from the sweat that had formed.
Why do you like me? I never did anything special for you. What about me caught your attention?
Now, she understood why Vallon had looked so different when he started at the academy. His appearance was a copy of the boy she had just seen in her dream. He must have been mimicking him all along.
“Hahaha…”
Leticia let out a bitter, defeated laugh.
Maybe trying to escape from Vallon was a hopeless dream. Even before she could try, it felt like all the strength was drained from her body.
“Vallon… You once told me to ask if I was curious. Just how far do your powers go?”
She was genuinely curious. Even though his abilities were extraordinary, how had no one noticed them? And why was he hiding them?
“Well…”
Vallon seemed to ponder her question for a moment.
“They go as far as keeping you in my grasp, no matter how hard you try to escape.”
His chilling answer crushed any thoughts of running away. The most terrifying part was that his words didn’t sound like a joke or a boast—they felt like the truth.
“Believe it or not, my power is limitless.”
By absorbing others’ magic, Vallon’s strength was never depleted. With no weaknesses, there was nothing for him to fear.
“Limitless?”
The childhood memory was so shocking that her mind had completely blocked it out. Now that it had returned, she wasn’t entirely glad to remember. It almost felt like it would have been better to never know.
She was curious about what happened to that boy afterward, but something inside her told her she didn’t want to know.
