Riri, having completed her thoughts, relaxed her stiff expression and flashed an even brighter smile. She figured that Vallon’s behavior was just because he was shy. After all, he had spent so much time as an outcast without making a proper friend, so his social skills must be lacking.
He just doesn’t know how to interact with people. That’s something she could teach him. Maybe someone as pretty as her was making him feel uncomfortable.

His crimson eyes betrayed no emotion, making it impossible for Riri to figure out what he was thinking.

It would be too humiliating to back down now. People passing by were already watching her attempt to talk to Vallon with interest. Her pride wouldn’t let her leave quietly.
He must just be shy… He’s probably never talked to a girl much before, so he’s expressing his embarrassment by being rude.
Riri comforted herself, interpreting Vallon’s actions however she wanted.

She added a playful tone to her voice, gently grabbing the cuff of his sleeve and shaking it slightly. No man had ever resisted her when she acted like this.

But it didn’t work on Vallon. As he raised his arm, her hand dropped from his sleeve. Riri stared in shock at her hand, then back at Vallon’s arm.
Her face twitched in humiliation.
‘What makes me inferior to that b*tch, Leticia?!’
Vallon must not know about the rumors surrounding Leticia. Before he gets too attached to someone with such a dirty reputation, she needed to be the one to tell him.
“Vallon, you don’t know the rumors about Leticia, do you? Over the break, she—”
“Are you quite weak in the head? I said, get lost.”
For the first time, Vallon’s face showed a hint of expression. His brow furrowed slightly, filled with irritation.

“Yeah, I saw it. So, Riri just got rejected by Vallon?”
“That’s what happens when you come on so blatantly.”
People watching nearby began laughing at Riri. Many of them had been waiting for a chance to talk to Vallon, and they were glad they hadn’t attempted it. They felt lucky now.
Riri’s face turned red and pale with embarrassment. She believed that she, not Leticia, was the one worthy of Vallon.
“I’m better than a commoner like Leticia!”
Riri shouted, but Vallon ignored her completely, turning away as if she were invisible.
“Why are you ignoring me!”
Just as she reached out to grab his shoulder, Riri suddenly fell forward. But it wasn’t a simple trip. It felt as if some unseen force had pulled her down.
Face down on the ground, Riri struggled to catch her breath.

This was fear unlike anything she had ever experienced. She started to cry, terrified she might die. But what was even scarier was the smile on Vallon’s face as he watched her.
He was enjoying it. Watching her suffer was like entertainment for him.
