How to Escape from the Yandere’s Crazy Obsession - Chapter 99
Without hesitation, Leta approached Vallon and began tearing up his drawings, burning them in the nearby candle. Then, she grabbed his shoulders and shook him violently.
Back then, Vallon only reached her knees. She could easily push him around or knock him over if she wanted. Although it was unpleasant, he wasn’t a threat at the time.
“What in the world are you doing? Even if you’re mad, you should at least pretend to be normal! If you get me kicked out of this house because of this, will you take responsibility? Don’t ever draw these disgusting pictures again, you demon child!”
“Why shouldn’t I draw them?”
Unlike the frantic Leta, Vallon’s calm, low voice didn’t sound like that of a child. Any normal child would cry or be scared when scolded like this, but Vallon showed no signs of fear or distress.
“I said don’t draw them! Just act like a normal kid—eat your food, run around, cry and play like other kids! Can’t you do that? If you want to keep living in this house, act like a normal child.”
Leaving Vallon, who still didn’t seem to understand, Leta slammed the door and stormed out. She gave firm instructions to the maid waiting outside.
“Make sure that thing never wanders around this castle freely. It’s the child of a demon, I’m sure of it. Ugh! There’s no way something like that came from my womb!”
“Yes, Madam.”
From that day, Leta began referring to her son as “that thing” with disgust. She couldn’t bear to look at him, and if she could, she would have locked him away forever.
“Burn all of those drawings and take away his art supplies. Keep buying him new toys until you find something he likes!”
And that night.
Leta had a dream where a black shadow with blood-red eyes wrapped around her throat, choking her.
She had dreamt before of her son strangling her, but this time, the faceless shadow was doing it. The fear was on an entirely different level.
That terrible dream continued for a week, then two weeks, and eventually over a month. It was only then that Leta realized the nightmares were connected to her son.
After a month of relentless nightmares, Leta’s body and mind had become weak. Tormented by headaches, she finally sought out Vallon, suspecting he had something to do with it.
Vallon was sitting in his room, doing nothing but staring out the window.
Leta had never seen her son whine or express emotion. Even on the day she banned him from drawing, he hadn’t cried or thrown a tantrum.
Sensing someone enter, Vallon turned around. As light from the window illuminated the room, a dark shadow appeared before Leta’s eyes.
It was just a child’s shadow, yet Leta felt like it would strangle her at any moment. Her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the floor. After a month of being conditioned by fear, the mere sight of something black sent her into shock.
Vallon’s red eyes gleamed as he silently stared at her, and Leta knew instinctively that it was all his doing.
“It’s your doing, isn’t it?”
“Well, why did you burn my drawings?”
“All of this because of some silly drawings? How dare you torment me every night, you demon!”
Vallon walked toward her as Leta trembled. Sitting on the floor, her eyes met his perfectly as he stood over her.
Vallon suddenly leaned in close.
“Mother, if you want to keep living in this house, don’t interfere with what I do. Just like now. Forever.”
“W-what did you say?”
“If you don’t like what you see, just don’t look. Just live as if you’re already dead.”
The words that came out of Vallon’s small mouth were far from anything a child should say.
Watching him speak so casually in front of her, Leta felt a deep revulsion. If he was like this as a child, it was terrifying to think what he would become as an adult. She knew—if she didn’t act now, it would be too late.
Without thinking, Leta lunged at Vallon and wrapped her hands around his neck. But she couldn’t apply any pressure.
“Guh…!”
