How to Survive as a Princess in a Reverse Harem Game - Chapter 10
‘If only Jiyu could get this too… No, that’s not right.’
While it was true that this felt good, it was a game that Jiyu, being a child, should never be near. A game that constantly threatened death.
Still, I couldn’t help but think that it would be nice to share such good things with her.
When the massage was finished and the maids began to dry my body, I felt quite embarrassed, but the moment was brief. After changing into new robes, I followed the maids and arrived at the dressing room.
After standing behind the partition, one of the maids showed me a white dress. It was a thin white slip with no sleeves, just straps.
“Your Highness, what do you think of this negligee?”
“It’s good.”
I extended my hand, signaling for her to give it to me. However, the maid stood behind me and began dressing me.
‘Ah.’
They’re even dressing me. Well, they did help with the bath, so it’s not surprising that they’d help with my clothes too.
‘It’s a relief that I passed it off naturally.’
I thought of the message window that had warned me to be cautious of suspicion levels. These small things would add up and cause suspicion.
When I left the partition, I was confronted with a large mirror, whether I wanted it or not. In the mirror stood a silver-haired beauty.
‘That’s the female character from the game, isn’t it?’
If my memory serves me right, she was the character I had seen before I lost consciousness in reality. She had been standing at the very center of the game screen, so she must be the protagonist, right?
I blinked. My long, white eyelashes fluttered along with it, as if they were going to shatter like snowflakes.
‘I’d believe she was a fairy.’
I had thought she was pretty when I saw her on screen, but seeing her in person, she was really beautiful. Her sharp, delicate face with graceful contours and soft yet distinct eyes was undeniably ethereal.
I found myself staring at the character when another maid told me to sit on the sofa. I noticed the fan she was holding in her hand.
‘Is she going to dry my hair with that?’
My hair is extremely long now. It easily passed my waist and was even brushing near my hips.
‘Drying this long hair with a fan would be incredibly difficult.’
I worried for the maid’s arms, who seemed to be working so hard, but surprisingly, after just a few sweeps with the fan, my hair was completely dry.
‘Huh?’
Is this even possible? Something that modern technology couldn’t achieve?
Maybe it’s just the game.
I absentmindedly ran my fingers through my freshly dried hair as I moved toward the bedroom.
The bedroom I returned to was neatly arranged. Seeing the freshly replaced bedding, I felt the same embarrassment flood back.
Although the man didn’t go all the way, there had to be fewer traces, but just the thought that I had exposed my private life to someone else was enough to make me blush.
‘It’s fine, they’re just game characters. Don’t overthink it.’
I lay down on the bed, trying hard to act unaffected, when one of the maids spoke to me.
“If you need anything more, feel free to pull the bell cord anytime. May the light of Lublin be with you.”
The maids all bowed to me in unison and left the room. Only then could I take a deep breath. They had been pampering me the entire time, which was physically comfortable, but mentally unsettling.
‘The room is so spacious.’
As I absentmindedly gazed at the bedroom, softly illuminated by the lamps, I realized something. I had forgotten all about the quest.
‘Come to think of it, I haven’t asked about the character Reno yet, have I?’
It was a late realization. But I didn’t really want to pull the bell cord and call the maids back.
It looked like it was night, and even though they were just game characters, I didn’t want to burden them further.
‘I’ll ask tomorrow and get the clue then.’
I wasn’t sure if I would be able to sleep, but…
* * *
When I opened my eyes, the ornate ceiling with gold trim and intricate patterns caught my gaze. It was a luxurious sight, completely different from the plain room I had in reality.
It seemed I was still in the game.
‘…It wasn’t a dream.’
Bright sunlight filtered through the thin gap in the curtains.
I raised my arm to shield my eyes. I had no clear memory of the previous night. I had fallen asleep not long after lying down in bed.
I had expected to toss and turn in the unfamiliar surroundings, but there was none of that. My body felt refreshed, as though I had slept soundly.
‘Was I always this good at adapting?’
