How to Survive as a Princess in a Reverse Harem Game - Chapter 19
Even in this situation, there’s a notification about my affection level rising. Besides, what part of this increased the affection level?
I couldn’t understand, but it helped me recognize that I was in a game, cooling the boiling anger inside me.
That said, I couldn’t easily overlook Reno’s injury…….
Reno sheathed his sword at his waist. As he picked up the book that had fallen on the floor, he frowned.
“Oh, what should I do about this? I threw it in a hurry, and now the book has grass stains.”
As he said, the center and edges of the book were soaked with green grass stains.
“It shouldn’t be a problem for reading, but if the librarian finds out, it’ll be a disaster. I’ll have to be careful not to let this side show when returning it.”
“That’s not the issue right now.”
“Excuse me?”
I bit my lip as I looked at the long scar that crossed below Reno’s left tear duct.
“……I’m sorry.”
“Oh, is it because of this? Don’t worry about it. It’ll heal quickly with some ointment.”
Reno lightly rubbed his cheek. However, even with that small gesture, the wound seemed to reopen, and another drop of blood formed.
“It’s my fault for making a loud noise and getting caught. It’s my karma. I should have avoided making things difficult for you…… I’m sorry. I should have stayed out of sight of the princess.”
“Stop rubbing it.”
Unable to watch the spreading bloodstain any longer, I stood on my tiptoes. He was so tall that I could barely grab his hand by stretching as far as I could.
“Your Highness?”
“Don’t apologize. It’s not something you should be sorry for.”
“It really is my fault. If I hadn’t accompanied you…….”
Was the reason Nepheli had been going to the library alone all this time because of that woman just now? Was it not because the library was boring?
“How can that be your fault? I asked you to come with me, so it’s my fault.”
It was an incident that occurred because of my ignorance.
And while I didn’t understand why the relationship with that woman was so bad, one thing was clear.
Nepheli was originally a weak princess without power.
Except for the royal palace where her power is most evident, she is a princess so weak that she can even despise the librarian and the royal guards.
‘This is why the ultimate goal this game has given me is to ascend the throne.’
To do that, I needed to build enough influence and strength to turn this situation around.
I looked at Reno’s wound. The wound, almost like a hairline fracture, could be dismissed as nothing, just as he said, but it still concerned me.
‘It would be nice if I could treat his wound…… Do I have anything like ointment?’
Just as that thought crossed my mind, I felt something leaving my body, and a blue light sparkled in the air. Soon, something appeared and dropped down.
Rolling helplessly on the floor was a flat, cylindrical object.
‘What is that? Can I pick it up?’
Ding!

Magic? I used magic?
I was taken aback, as I didn’t even know how to use magic, but first, I picked up the cylinder that had fallen on the floor.
“That…… You used magic?”
“Yeah. I wanted to heal your wound.”
“Why would you do that……?”
He looked more surprised than grateful.
He even grabbed me and placed his palm on my forehead, as if checking my temperature.
“Are you alright? Is there anywhere that hurts?”
“Where does it hurt?”
“From your reaction, you seem fine. Thankfully, there’s no fever.”
As I listened to Reno’s words, the caution message about using magic causing strain on the body came to mind.
Is that why he’s acting like this?
“Why would you use magic for my wound? Please don’t do that again.”
“I won’t.”
As I nodded, Reno finally relaxed his expression.
“Anyway, since you’re offering to heal me, I guess I should accept.”
Reno casually plopped down on the floor.
“If I stand, it’ll be difficult for you.”
It was a kind gesture. It definitely felt more comfortable for my neck, which had been strained from looking up at him the whole time, now that he was sitting.
But still, I had to bend my knees to apply the ointment. As I awkwardly bent my knees, Reno grabbed my arm and pulled me closer.
“W-What?”
Before I knew it, I found myself sitting on his thigh, looking up at Reno. I tried to get up, but he didn’t let go of me.
“Now our eye levels are perfectly matched, aren’t they?”
“That’s true, but…….”
Was it really necessary to do it this way?
Feeling his firm thigh beneath me was a lot more embarrassing than I had anticipated. My lips trembled as I gave up on standing up.
