How to Survive as a Princess in a Reverse Harem Game - Chapter 26
“I, Isaac Harsen, greet Her Highness Nepheli Leta Anesis, the light of Lublin.”
It was an excessively formal greeting, even upon a second glance. Despite being bathed in the glow of the chandelier, his dark hair, tinged with a deep blue hue, framed a face that was undeniably handsome.
I felt as though I would be entranced by his looks, so I awkwardly pretended to search for Reno.
“Where’s Reno……?”
“He’s right here.”
I quickly realized that it wasn’t the best choice either. The effort to turn my gaze from Isaac felt pointless as Reno’s face was just as striking.
It wasn’t just me who had gotten all dressed up. Reno had neatly swept part of his bangs to the side and was impeccably dressed in his uniform.
Seeing Isaac dressed so formally, instead of his usual relaxed demeanor, felt refreshing. When he smiled at me, my heart fluttered.
“You look truly beautiful, Your Highness.”
“Reno Harsen.”
Isaac called Reno’s name softly.
“Don’t be so cheeky.”
The coldness in Isaac’s gaze was so intense that the fluttering sensation I had just moments ago vanished as if it had never existed. In contrast, Reno merely shrugged as if it didn’t bother him at all.
“Shouldn’t we be heading to the banquet hall? I heard from the maids that time is tight.”
“……I will escort you, Your Highness.”
Isaac stepped closer and extended his hand to me. Caught off guard, I took his hand, and he began to move. At first, it seemed like he was leading the way, but soon he adjusted his pace to match mine.
‘This is a bit embarrassing.’
In that moment, I felt like a truly precious person. After all, I had become a princess character, so it wasn’t entirely untrue…….
As I lifted my gaze from the floor, I noticed Reno walking ahead of us.
‘Huh?’
I blinked slowly at an unexpected sight. With every step he took, his cloak swayed, parting to reveal glimpses of his broad back.
Although he was wearing a sheer shirt that covered him, the silhouette was rather revealing.
I wondered if I had misseen, but each time he moved, the muscles in his back became visible through the fluttering fabric, revealing and concealing them in a tantalizing dance.
‘What on earth…?’
What was that?
Honestly, one might say that seeing a man’s back wasn’t a big deal. But in the unexpected encounter, my gaze was completely lost.
Moreover, the way he revealed just a hint of skin rather than fully exposing himself felt oddly secretive, making it all the more teasing.
After wandering around, unable to find where to look, a thought suddenly struck me, Isaac was wearing the same uniform as Reno.
‘Could it be that Isaac is also……?’
Thinking that he might be exposing his back just like Reno made me feel rather strange. A strong urge to confirm it surged within me, but I decided to suppress it.
After all, it felt a bit inappropriate to check myself. If I caught a glimpse like I did with Reno, that would be one thing, but…….
Trying my best not to look at Reno’s back, I walked until he finally stopped. It seemed we had arrived at the entrance to the banquet hall.
“May the light of Lublin be with you.”
The attendants guarding the door bowed to us and opened the door.
It felt somewhat refreshing to see people greeting us instead of ignoring me like those in the library. Perhaps it was because of Isaac’s presence.
Inside the banquet hall were others who had arrived before us. Along with Meliana, there were many faces I recognized, including the twin guardians.
The rest of Meliana’s guardians and a little girl were also present.
‘That girl’s name was…… Cirilla, right?’
Seeing her in person made the resemblance to Jiyu even more striking. It wasn’t just her age, the gentle curve of her eyes and her overall aura felt oddly similar.
“You may sit here, Your Highness.”
The attendant spoke as he pulled out a chair for me. It was the third seat on the long rectangular table, skipping two at the end.
‘Right next to Cirilla.’
At the same time, it was a diagonal seat facing Meliana. As I sat down, I kept an eye on Meliana’s reaction.
‘I hope she doesn’t pick a fight again.’
